Interesting concept, sounds and music are well chosen :)
Thank you for your feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game.
I like how nice and chill this is. Nice work on this.
Thanks a lot for feedback!
really nice concept, just though a bit weirdy how to control the vehicle.
I think the time is too short for each round
Thanks for your feedback! A few adjusments are on the way ;)
Interesting perspective. I liked it. Maybe you can add shop to buy upgrades
Hello!
Thank you for the comment! Yes, some king of upgrade or even different truck models with pros/cons would be fun! I don't know if we will keep developing the game, but we got some great feedback from the community!
Cool game concept and well implemented! It took me a while figure it out where to refuel my truck hahaha
Thanks a lot! Glad you are enjoying the game and figured the fuel mechanics out ;)
Very interesting concept! Car handling pretty good, and ability to go off-road is nice, made me very happy. Music is very relaxing and with the contrast of music creates interesting feeling, yes, you dealing with the corpses of animals, but all of this for good, and i like it! But controls was not very good: using L for load was uncomfortable, maybe something closer to WASD - E or F, that's also for unloading the truck, think, controls could be greater, also sounds for refueling the truck was very LOUD, was very disturbing! Also, just little thought, collecting animals corpses that were ran over by car, with the CAR is kinda sad. But, after all, great game, enjoyed it very much!
Thank you for the comments!
The choice of U, R and L were related to the action verbs (Unload, Refuel, Load), but you are correct in asking for a more ergonomic key binding!
And we're very sorry for the loud refuel sound! We'll test to get to a more confortable but yet noticeable volume!
And regarding the collection with the car, a "collecting" animation would be a nice touch! Maybe the player character could go out and collect the corpse... if we can pull it out and keep developing the game we'll try to add these features!
Good luck with your development!
A very relaxing game! Love these kinds of games. I really liked your guys' take on the theme as well. Never in a million years would I have thought of a compost factory. Great job on your submission!
Thanks for you feedback! We are really glad you enjoyed the game :)
I really loved the game concept and take on the theme! The game is very relaxing and fun to play. The town would look great if it would be a bit more vivid - with traffic and/or pedestrians (this may be a difficult task though - I guess) or some dynamic graphic elements like birds flying over here and there, some trees moving slightly etc.
Loved it - cheers!
Thank you for the comments Cosmic!
Yes, creating a "living environment" is a great challenge, but will certainly make the game much more interesting!
Haha, compost, original take on the theme, I love it! The controls were very smooth, I liked how the truck slowed down when off-road, nice little detail there! Addition of a minimap is also a big plus!
I'm curious to find out what else you had in mind to do with this game if anything at all, I see potential!
Oh, not sure if you're familiar or if it was something on my end; after the timer ran out the first time and the game restarted, all UI elements seemed to have moved off-screen slightly, for example, I could no longer see the timer and only a part of the minimap was still on-screen.
Congratulations on your entry!
Hello! And thank you for the feedback!
We actually have many things in mind. A full day cycle with light changes, traffic, opening os new areas with time progression, an economy system to have variable costs/profits... all sorts of stuff.
I have a mini story in the back of my head too, but it would take a long long way to learn how to implement it!
Regarding th UI... I really don't know, haven't had that issue... it's probably my inability on configuring an responsive UI ... sorry for that!
By the way, you're game is awesome! It bugged out after a few deaths (... a few to be kind to myself...) but I loved playing it and the story is very instresting. I'll try it again to see if I can go past mage stage 2 (too many firaballs on ma face!)
Haha the UI was no biggie to me as it didn't take away from the gameplay itself! I did also press escape to see if there were any options as the went into the next "day" the first time, maybe it had something to do with that?
I wonder where you'd be headed if you continued working on it; is that the plan or will you be moving on focusing on the next project and/or jam? :D
And thanks for the comment! If you do decide to go back and find it rather hard, yet you want to continue the whole story, you could always access the accessibility settings from the main menu :)
The idea is always continue with the project, but the reality somethimes makes it quite impossible... but we'll try!
And I'll take a look in the accessibility settings of Vampire Overlord! <3
Haha it's up to you, really!
I've done my fair share of jams and I found that in most cases, unless you feel like you've really got something big, it is best to just take what you've learned to the next jam/project and use it as a learning curve. It's hard to decide whether something is good enough of a baseline to put more time into it or not though, and the only one who can decide this is you/your team! :D Good luck either way!
I really enjoyed my experience with the game it was oddly relaxing just driving around collecting roadkill. The driving felt really nice and responsive! I also appreciated the mini map! Maybe you could add some traffic?
Thank you Domenixius! We're glad you liked it!
We actually want to add a lot of things to the game, one of them beeing traffic! But it is a huge task to come up with a good trafic system (withou constant car crashes lol).
But I'll try to come up with something and add more vehicles! (Imagine if those vehicles actually created the carcasses... with roaming animals and all... every time I think about the game, the scope grows kkkk)
Thats what I thought too it would be so cool if we could see the carcasses being made by traffic! Although one would have to prevent the player from just basically printing money by killing the animals themselfs :D
Very cool take on the theme, compost is serious bussiness. I would have liked to see a bit more ahead when I drive but I guess the minimap makes up for it, really cool that you made a minimap as well!
Noted! We are thinking about zooming the camera out a little bit, but not too much so player will still be able to see the carcasses in some detail. Thanks for your feedback :)
Thank you PcKaffe!
Yeah, camera could be a little wider, We'll have to better tune it! Good thing we added the minimap, game would be terribly frustrating without it!
Very smart use of the theme and I loved the side-on illustration of the poor critters in the truck, and it being a progress bar too, lol
Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)
Lol.. RoadKill! Love it! Good images too, love the silhouette of the truck as it starts to fill with animals. Good stuff!
Thank you!
By the way, I played your submission and I think it's very cool! :D
Thanks 🙏
I found this quite relaxing and enjoyed filling up the truck with the roadkill.
Thank you for the feedback!
We are happy that you enjoyed the game!
Like everyone else mentioned here the one-minute timer is pretty short. But overall I really liked the idea of the game and I can see a lot of time and effort went into the game. Good job :)
Thank you for playing and providing feedback!
I'll tune the Timer for sure!
The map is well designed and I appreciate the slowing down on sidewalks and the minimap, that's a nice touch. I agree with another comment about the time limit, it's a bit short as it is and would benefit from a bit longer for each day, but maybe also increase the fuel usage rate a bit to balance out having longer to collect animals.
I do like where you took this theme, you've taken it in a different direction than most and have made a sad part of life into a productive and positive outcome. Good work!
Thank you for the comments!
I actually want to take this mechanic and add a story on top of it!
The tunning of day timer is really necessary, I just hadn't have the time to do it! But the jam community feedback is of major help!
I'm really glad you liked the interpretation of the theme!
Thaaaaaaaanks!
I really really like this game and its idea, a bit weird though how they are sustaining an entire business on the off chance that there is roadkill nearby. My only critique is to be more lenient on the timer and also where does this game take place so I know what side of the road to drive on lol.
Thank you for your comment plackett!
Well, I don't know how it really works in real life, but in the article I found regarding the theme (http://cwmi.css.cornell.edu/roadkillfs.pdf) it was said that this service was actually hired and paid "a good money"!
Regarding the side of the street in which to drive, I laughed when I read it, because it has never crossed my mind! I really wouldn't know, so it's up to you to decide (I personally drive all around like a maniac in the game so...)!
And the Timer needs to be better tunned for sure! Maybe even a "day/night" effect... but that's for the future!
Thanks again!
It was beautiful and hard, congrats.
Thank you Nima!
Hi there, your source on your Google Drive is misconfigured. Your source needs to be everything a user needs to download the project, open it in Unity, and hit Play to play the game. You are missing the Assets, Packages, and ProjectSettings folders in your source. Please update it as soon as you can.
Hi Yang! Thx for the heads up! I'll do it as soon as I get home!
It looks good now :)
