I agree with the comments below - great presentation (graphics and music)!  And a nice implementation of the Last Stand theme.  Don't know why I didn't think of a tower defense game myself!  :-)

Good concept and fun game! I did have it crash on me a couple times and close the window when choosing the bear trap. Didn't always do it so not sure what caused it.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

We have never experienced crashes, it's a fairly standard Godot build with nothing fancy. Can you let me know what is your Browser and OS? Does it give off any error messages? Those could help a lot.

Using the latest version of Google Chrome and Windows 10. It didn't give any error messages but just closed abruptly. First playthrough I started by selecting the trap hole, then placed the ambush, then when I clicked the bear trap the window just closed. I tried the game again selecting the same exact things in the same order but this time instead of closing, there was a hang after selecting the bear trap for about 2 seconds (I thought it was going to crash again) and then it worked fine for the rest of the game. 3rd Playthrough did the same thing with the same order and had the hang with the bear trap before working just fine and the 4th play I tried selecting different things and it crashed again when selecting the bear trap. I used to beta test so I tried to reproduce it best I could but the crash appeared to be random when trying to access the bear trap but there was a hang when it didn't. Might only be on my system but thought i should let you know. :D

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Being random does give us a clue, we will check it out.

NICE it was really fun to use the different structures. I like how the enemy was auto attacking the structure as well as how the stuff you built attacked them. On top of that everything looked really great and set the atmosphere well.

This was awesome! As others have said, the graphics were very cool! Made me feel like I was playing this in my own notebook while at school or something!

I think if each trap had a little description that gave some detail of how it worked when you hovered over it, that would have helped a lot with knowing what I setting down.  I got the hang of it after a few rounds, but it took me a bit to realize that the ambushes were ranged, and didn't expire immediately like the bear traps or the hidden pits.

But I still had a blast with this one! I could definitely see this turning into a full on wave/tower defense with this art style! Great job!

Loved the hand draw graphics. Great game overall. Maybe consider adding a building to increase ones income.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Good suggestion!

Developer

Thanks to all who complimented the art, it was all hand-drawn.

It was my first time doing something like this so it means a lot!

Generally not a big tower defence player, but this could be the most fun one I've played.

Love the art style and the music.

Love it!!
A tutorial level that goes over each trap would go a long way, but there's a ton of impressive work here! The art is wonderful, the mechanics are clean, and there's a cohesive, charming sense of identity you wove together with this game and its story. Well done! :)

This game was pretty fun! I was a little confused at first, it would be nice to have a tool tip over the different buildings or something, but I was able to figure it out pretty quickly and won on my first try. I really liked the aesthetics, the game looks really nice.  Nice work!

Phew! I managed to survive on the third try!

The story is really fun, I love the idea that The Big Bad Wolf is part of an entire pack!

The defensive items are inventive, I especially liked sending wolves down into pits, very cartoon-y!

The first time through I understood the goal but not how to accomplish it. The second time I thought maybe I could 'cheese' the system by throwing down bear traps on every wolf I saw, more like an action game than a tower defense, but I got overwhelmed. I think bear traps only work on the smaller wolves every time? Or do they have randomized damage? In any case, sometimes they were defeated and other times not, so I switched to pits which always seemed to work; in that strategy I ran out of money, plus it was difficult to place more pits on the wolves piling up.

At one point a lone wolf got stuck in the trees and I thought perhaps I could save up for the big tower, but the next wave still triggered and overwhelmed me first. Finally I went with a mixture but mostly used the ambushes and ballista when I could buy them, this led to victory! I was never able to see that final tower, though.

This might not be true for everyone, but I could have used more clarity on the rate that money increases, and the health of the house being defended.

Thanks for playing and for the very in-depth analysis! It's much appreciated!

Be nice if it rememebered your last selected trap.
Art is great, so is the audio choice. Good job :)
