One of my favourites for the Jam.
Looks, sounds and plays really well.

Thanks, very much appreciated. I'll do another round of playing submissions later on today and will definitely check out yours. Thanks for playing!

This game is SO fun! I loved it. I found myself rooting against all my other pin friends, not sure what that says about me lol.

It was also really funny when I got knocked over because I could get up just in time, but didn't have enough time to move out of the way of incoming balls, so I just got knocked down and got back up like 4 times in a row before it finally got me for good lol.

Developer

Ah yes the consecutive knock-downs. I experienced many of those during playtesting so I can relate lol. Glad you enjoyed the game. Thanks for playing it!

Wow, it looks and sounds amazing! Nice work!

Very good job, love the art style and sound effects! Would love if player could dash, but maybe that would make the game too easy.

Developer

I initially had planned to give it a "Dive" mechanic, where you could dive out of the way of a bowling ball and it would be balanced by counting as a knock-down and making you have to mash to get back up. Didn't have enough time to add it though. Thanks for playing the game!

This was excellent! Some of the most fun I've had so far. You've really tied everything together nicely with the visuals and sound. The gameplay was easy to pickup and understand right away which I appreciate because that can be a challenge.

You should be very proud! Great work!

Developer

Really appreciate the kind words. Thank you very much for playing my game!

Great short and sweet game, could be a Mario Party minigame!

Developer

Bowser is secretly the one sending the bowling balls towards the pins. Thanks for playing the game!

Simple but really fun game!

In my opinion the Player figure should be a bit more distinguishable from the others, but everything else about the game feels great!
Plus the music fits perfectly, it adds a lot to the tension on this side of the bowling alley!

Well done and good luck!

Thanks for trying out the game!

I agree with your comment about the Player pin. Initially every pin had black outlines, so I tried to distinguish the main pin by giving it a blue outline, but I still sometimes lost myself in the mix of all of the pins. I think I should have added a specific design or drawing on the body of the pin to make it more clear. Thanks for the feedback!

however i kinda liked it so it was a bit of a challenge not to get confused with the other pins, just sharing my experience :D

Thoroughly enjoyable! Simple, but does exactly what it sets out to do and does it well.

Ayyy high five fellow bowling game dev 😄

Absolutely love it, it's quick and fun, perfect for a game jam, and the frantic comedic vibe is great. The music fits really well. I had a lot of fun but I nearly broke my space bar 🤣

Developer

It's great meeting more bowling game enjoyers.

I definitely relate to the space bar comment after playtesting the game so much lol. Thank you for playing the game!

This Jam isn't big enough for the two of us....

Just kidding! It's awesome seeing slightly different takes on a very similar idea! And yours is really great!

The art style looks awesome. Very good use of the shader there. The sound effects are perfect! I couldn't find a good "rolling bowling ball" effect for mine, but you found the perfect one! That plus the pin hit noise was pretty much perfect! The music fit great as well.
Overall amazing sound design.

Great entry to the jam! Very well done!

Developer

That's amazing, great minds think alike I suppose.

Thank you for playing it! I'll get a chance later on to just play a bunch of the entries and will definitely try out yours. I dedicated a full day to just searching for sound effects and music, so I'm glad they fit well. Thank you again for the feedback, very much appreciated!
