Very smooth and polished experience!
Excellent presentation, animations look great, and the whole thing had nice pacing.
Congrats!
Thank you!
Short and sweet. Very well made
Thank you!
spectacular! the idea of including the hud was very original and looks great!
Thank you! I was actually hoping to make those buttons work for touch screen users.
Awesome work, it has an great gameboy feeling, great graphics and sfx&music, and gameplay. Great work with the palette, highlighting the things that damages the player over the rest, and also if feels like there is new content all the time.
The only thing I would've wanted to see is some innovation to the genre, the game felt super well but it was like playing any other platformer game (innovation wasn't part of the jam though).
Thanks for your feedback!
I totally agree with the innovation thing, I thought a bit about that, but nothing came to me so we get what we get lol
Man I just love this, it's game that I would buy. My only complaint is that you could add some tutorial because you have a lot of mechanics with directional attacks and charge and you could write some of ideas and concept on itch page. But game it's just great! You have talent man!
Thanks for your feedback. I had more ideas than time ;)
I wanted to have a couple NPCs with simple dialog but never got to it.
I know that feel man but it's kind of a charm of a jam that you need to throw some ideas away to fit everything in time that is given.
Wow. Just wow. The feel of this is fantastic! Also... worked amazingly with a controller. So extra stars just for that. :P
I really loved the directional attack thing... taking advantage of using a dpad. Super cool. The attack required such precision...so it created an interesting choice and made it feel diff than standard side-scrollers.
I really wanted to use the downward slash more as that one felt great, but it was so hard to pull off without also losing a heart. I wish that during that attack, if you got a successful hit, it made you invulnerable for that moment. So it would encourage using it and pulling it off. Whereas now even when I get a successful hit, I'm still punished. So I just stopped using it.
I loved that I felt like I was playing an actual GB though. And the palette choice of BW with the accent green worked so well!! Awesome stuff.
Thank you for such detailed feedback. Interesting idea with that downslash attack buff. I could have tuned that better. Glad it was still enjoyable! Thanks again!
A very fun game, love the mechanics, especially the flipping jump.
Thanks, that's Link's Awakening inspiration lol
My only complaint is it's not long enough because I was really enjoying it. Amazing entry, thank you!
Thank you! Sorry there's not more. I feel like more would need more mechanics and I didn't have the time.
Wow, amazing game. I love the balance between platforming and combat. Both the audio and graphics are fantastic. It really felt like playing a retro game.
Thanks!
Amazing as always, coming from a great retro game designer
Thanks! :)
Cool entry, had a lot of fun playing this game. Specially liked the music and sound design. It was a nice feature when you get hit and get sent flying backwards, liked that effect.
Thank you!
This is extremely cool. Every time I see one of your game I am amazed at the level of soul and polish you put into them. I had an amazing (although short) time playing. Cheers!
Thanks for such kind words! :)
The game is very short, but the gameplay is highly focused. Hope to have a chance to see the game have more levels.
Great gameplay and lovely graphics. Clever use of the limited palette. The vfxs were really juicy and on point but maybe (along with sprite rotations) didn't feel very gameboy-ish.
Overall it's a very fun game!
I could have done a bit more to stay a little more true to the GB. Thanks for your feedback.
Feels great to play.
