I liked the colors and the character.. very funny. 😄
really liked the art on this one, especially the color pallet.
Well done!
You created a solid platformer and incorporated the theme in a clever way.
Getting further with every retry feels really good. The trap where you jump down and don't see the trap at the bottom is a little bit unfair 😄
Keep it up!
Nice work! I like the artwork and level design, and the little progress indicator at the top was a cool idea. It took me a minute to realize the pipes were solid, maybe they could have a white outline like the wall tiles?
Nice work!
Having a constant time limit keeps the pace nicely. Now, sunbeams could refill your HP faster, and maybe act as checkpoints. Also, having a boss fight on a jam game is a luxury, congrats!
i liked the game a lot and the cute plant i couldn't finish the game fully but it's really good !
Thanks mann! I should have add some checkpoint so it's a little bit easier to get to boss but I was afraid that game would be to short then.
I really liked it! it was nice of you to add a tutorial section.
Thanks man!
Good job on this one! Nothing like a nice, tight platformer. I will say getting to that first sunbeam is way more punishing than the other ones lol. I wish there was some kind of indicator that you were running low on health. Maybe a sound effect, or have the character visibly wilt or something.
One thing I noticed: Sometimes I'd see dark lines appear between tiles as the camera moved. Moving the camera in Godot can give you floating point rounding errors with the individual tiles in Tilemaps, which causes the spacing between tiles to get inconsistent and weird. You can fix this in the project settings by going to "Rendering > Quality > Enable Pixel Snap".
Oo thank you a lot that thing was the problem for me and my girlfriend too , definitely try that out. I saw couple of forum post about that but everyone with different answer and didnt has enough time to put more work in that because of submitting due.
Thanks again
I thought this was a really cute game with a unique take on a beloved genre. It feels short, but polished and I really enjoyed my time with it!
Great game and a fun and unique mechanic with the light. Like mini timed sections!
Good job!
Thanks! It means a a lot.
Very cute, feels about right for gameboy feel too
Thanks man!
So simple but fun It would have been better if there was a checkpoint.
I had a doubt about checkpoint because of time spent playing. I haven't enough time to make a lot of content so I didn't add checkpoints for game to last longer because you need to start all over again. My initial idea was to have two levels and then there would be checkpoints but for time of this jam I restricted it to 1 level and boss. There will be post-jam version with more levels.
Liked the game, my only complaint is the lightbeams and how slow it takes them to fill up your sun gage. Spikes being an instant kill is also a bit of a bummer. Other than that, I think that your game has potential, a mad dash from checkpoint to checkpoint. I think you got something there.
Thanks, Yea beams should fill it up quicker but it was stupid of me I increased time you can spend without light but left same rate at witch is filled and published it like that. Appreciate comments!
Gorgeous art style, main character is very cute, UI is animated and all information is nicely portrayed. Colour scheme and overall theme capture that Gameboy / Gameboy Color nostalgia perfectly. The only negative point are the light beams which are a bit hard to differentiate from the rest of the background. Good luck in the contest!
Thank you man!! Yeea those light beams are really problematic but I couldn't think of way to make them better. It's my first time to make art myself so I couldn't think of way to make it better and there was a lot of other things to work on. Post-jam version will have something more noticeable, someone suggested that they could be animated to maybe something like that.
I liked the colors and the main character a lot.
Nice game.
Thank you! Its my first time doing art for a game and second game I made, soo your compliment on art means alot.
You should put more visual emphasis on the beams of sunlight!
yeaa I noticed that they are little bit weird but I could think of way to make them better. If you have any suggestions please write them
Maybe if u could add a bit if animation?
