How does your game match the theme?
Didn't want to make a generic space shooter game so I figured that every shoot'em up game comes to finding "space between bullets" that You have to find if You want to live, so this is one of those games. Also, You are fighting spiders from outer space :) that invaded earth (well, only one for now, the boss at the end of the first level, as I ran out of time to create more levels). Thanks for creating this jam so I could learn more.

Classic arcadey shooting action! I like that the firing rate was satisfyingly fast, but it still managed to be pretty hard!

Very cool game! I like your take on the theme, it's very original. Visual effects add a lot of "juice" to the gameplay. It's quite challenging and I think a heart system of some sorts would help a lot here. Graphics are nice and audio is pleasant. I also like the real GameBoy feel here. Good job!

Hard as hell and I am terrible at it. Perfectly recreated the experience I had with 90% of Game Boy games.

This one was really tough with the one hit kill but I still had a lot of fun. It took me about an hour but I memorize the level and all the enemy spawn position. The boss pixel art was amazing and the fight was an actual challenge but manage to beat it. Very good game!

That was fun! The shmup gameplay is very competent, and the art for the spider is pretty.

The soundtrack and audio is nice. Though, the game over sound is a lot louder than the other sounds.

While the difficulty was pretty fair, the one-hit restart was brutal. After a few tries, I was fortunate enough to beat the boss on my first encounter.

Great work!

Very challenging and a little frustrating game, but as you improve it becomes fun. Good job!

love the music, game play was very hard, would be nice if you moved faster had more health, cool entry overall though :)

Great and challenging game. The difficulty is well set. Maybe the level is a bit too long; it's difficult to not make a mistake for such a long time.

Cool shmup! I really wanted to move faster, but I enjoyed the rate of fire and learning all the patterns. Thanks for making this!

Very solid shooter!

Super smooth and responsive character,  very readable enemies and bullet patterns that work on such small resolution. The boss was pretty easy if you dodged the bare minimum, but the pressure of the punishing death was intense.

Good stuff!

Thanks for playing and for many kind words. Glad that You liked it :)

Cool interpretation of the vertical shooter. Enemy behavior is well-designed, creating interesting challenges in conjunction with the varied terrain. Also, the variety of enemies keeps things fresh.

The soundtrack is excellent, and really gets the blood pumping. Just right for an action game.

My main problem is that the one-hit kill is a bit too punishing. Sometimes I would get in the groove for a minute or so, dodging endless bullets in bullet hell, but then a single hit would bring me back to the beginning.

I was thinking about adding some kind of lives system but thought that the game would be too easy then. Maybe this is something that I could implement in the future - normal (or easy:) mode with lives and hardcore (normal) mode without them. Thanks for playing and for Your critique.

In a game jam, your game always turns out too hard. That's the curse of the game jam. :) Because you're usually the only tester, and you get too good at your own game. So whenever you get worried that your jam game might be too easy... don't worry about that. :)
