I had the windows mouse pointer and the ingame mousepointer simultaniously which was slightly irritating. Aside of this not much to criticise. Solid game.
Wow, a very good take on the "Paying the price" theme with the stats adjustments and the +2:-1 ratio. Good game! (but did Lucifer just one shot me?)
The visuals are amazing, and the music and SFX are pretty good too. It's fun to play!
Fun game, I was constantly dying at the start and it was a little unclear what hitting me when I died. Otherwise, the controls were pretty smooth! But I love the voices and the creepiness of the text exposition.
Really a good game it's has good gameplay feeling, nice sound effects and good juicy + love the arts its really nice
Really enjoyed the gameplay! I had a very similar upgrade mechanic in my game so it was cool to see someone who did it similar.
I love the art as well, looks amazing!
Great entry!
Very fun! Would have liked clear boundary markers, but not a major problem.
This had solid focus and so the gameplay feels coherent even though it's short! The combo of pixel art and 3d looked great too. I think this was one of my favorites to actually play for gameplay. I think it would have been nice to have the player movement feel a bit more agile or juicy, but overall great work!
This was a really good game. I loved the voice acting and the upgrade mechanic.
Cool voice acting catches hits home for me ever since I first tried Darkest Dungeon, and oh boy, this demons voices are sooo brutal *^*
They made me stay, and then came a gameplay - pretty simple and catchy, but, amongst many others same mechanics in this jam, very polished and pretty balanced. That's why I would prefer this game, if I had to choose.
Visuals and setting are also just for me. Maybe a bit more juice upon killing and getting an upgrade, not really sure...
Loved it! Thank you for this submission!
And I'm heading to try to beat the Lucifer once again... -^-
The game has pretty good visuals and a lot of effects that are very juicy but the theme dosent feel very well, over all the game its very good
Cool premise: I liked how I was giving something up to gain something. I wish I knew exactly what I was giving up and what I was gaining though. It wasn’t clear from the icons. I had a lot of fun playing this one. Well done.
One of the best games I've played in Juice Jam II. It's got nice art, effects, juice, and a cool boss. Great balancing, perfect pacing and engaging. Just well rounded with a good ending. Only nitpick would be having to identify the symbols in the upgrades instead of just putting the text right next to the arrows, that introduced a bit of friction in otherwise great game. Amazing stuff.
Wow, I absolutely adore this game! It's the best one I've played in the jam so far. The music is fantastic, the voice acting is spot on, the art is excellent and it feels very satisfying. I wish you the best of luck. Cheers!
controls did not work on my end for some reason. Clicking worked fin but couldn't move.
Hmm - did you try firefox/fullscreen/spacebar?
Such a great game feel & unique visual style!
Beautiful game, the graphic style you crafted here is not only super polished but very unique. Also heavy levels of juice, the game oozes character. The gameplay itself is a lot of fun, I like the idea of taking upgrades results in a downgrade elsewhere. There's a lot to love here, I wish there was more to the game, I'd love to see you develop this further. Just curious, what engine did you use to create it?
Thanks a lot for the kind words - I also wish we had more time for more Upgrades/Sacrifices/Enemies/Bosses :D
Unreal Engine, but the old 4.23 version that still supports web builds
I love the audio and the upgrade system, it adds so much variety
Thanks a lot - was hoping to add more upgrades/sacrifices - but time :D
Great mix of bullet hell and vampire survivor - the additional bullet hell mechanics made it so much fun. I loved the way the area opened up after killing the first boss, great use of space. Unfair to not pause the game when choosing an upgrade, but easy to fix. The initial space is a bit too confined, considering you have to deal with the different mechanics. Overall, a game I would definitely play, so keep going with it! (Btw got a "Running with IndexedDB access disabled." error at the start but it didn't stop play)
Atmospheric game, I liked it, especially the voice acting
Glad you enjoyed it - I'm also super happy that we got a Voice Actor to do the Recordings :)
