Congratulations on your first game! It's fun, but I would add some SFX and also something to avoid always being between top and middle. You need to stay focus for too long, I couldn't make it to top 1 :(

This is awesome! It is really addictive and fun to play, I definitely need to try it on mobile. Also, the game feel is really nice, especially when you get smashed. Music is nice and smooth, and the switch has a satisfying click sound. Nice work!

And if you haven't had a chance to check out my game Foxy Boom Boxy, I would appreciate any feedback, thanks!

Developer

Thanks for the review! Of course i will try your game and put a review for it!

nice simple game 👍🏻 my only complaint is, the game is too bright

Developer

Thanks for the review! Also,i thought that because the place is in a factory the bright colors will be good, but anyway thanks for the review :D .

This is one of those games that works really great on mobile platforms. It's kinda like Flappy Bird but also not. This isn't a genre I make or play or lot of myself so it is a bit hard for me to give proper advice or feedback, and I don't want to repeat what everyone else has already pointed out in the comments. Maybe consider making the cannons move or change positions so it won't be so easy to hover between cannons, but otherwise I don't have a lot unique feedback, a lot of the other comments already pointed out a lot of great stuff to consider

Nice first game.
A slight little bug is that every restart starts a new music on a new channel resulting multiple music tracks playing at once out of sync to a total cacophony :D

But well done none the less for your first game <3

Developer(+1)

oh yeah this problem i couldn't fix it because there was still a few time and i didnt have time because i was still making the game page on itch but ,and im now planning to make the full version of the game when the jam ends, thanks for the review!.

Well this is definitelly a solid 1st entry for the jams :) but I think the lever should be toggleable, and the saws should move, as is fairly easy to get a highscore by just spamming in between 2 layers

Developer(+1)

ok im planning to do this in the full version i will publish! Thanks for the review

It's okay. Definitely a good first game.

It's fairly easy to hover between two cannons. Unfortunately, I didn't get very far, so I wouldn't know if/when this changes, but 80+ seconds is quite long to wait for the difficulty to increase.

The strobing background is fairly annoying to me; it would be nice if there was a setting to turn it off.

Good attempt.

Developer(+1)

the strobing background is a thing i added to the game to make it a little difficult in vision to be more challenging, also im planning to make cannons move in the coming full version! Thanks for the review!

nice game but it would be better if instead of pressing/releasing to go up/down it should switch when you click...i think idk

Amazing entry. Great job on your first game, The controls are easy and the gameplay is static. Maybe some collectibles and powerups might help. I have to admit though, I love the music!😆

Great work on your first game! Presentation is nice, and I like the core gameplay. In my playthrough, since the turrets didn't move, it felt like I could just stay in one spot and I could survive forever. So I think maybe either moving turrets or something to collect to incentivize you to go in the line of fire would be a good update for the future. But great overall!

Sound effects and music are kinda annoying, but the game's concept is interesting.

thanks for the review i really appreciate it!

Here's my suggestion for your game: consider improving the graphics quality for a more visually appealing experience. Regarding the on and off mechanic you've implemented, it might be more user-friendly to replace the requirement of holding the space button with a toggle switch. This way, players can simply press it once to turn it on and press again to turn it off. This could make the gameplay more intuitive and enjoyable.

So I get the idea, but the implementation makes the gameplay super repetitive and unchallenging after about 5 seconds. The audio also loops on itself whenever you die which makes playing the game multiple times very challenging (unless you turn off audio). I would have added a bit more to the gameplay, right now you just pick a spot between two of the shooter things and slightly tap spacebar to 'win'. Good first go!

Developer

Thanks for the review! for the music bug i couldn't fix it because there was just still 2 hours until the jam ends and in those 2 hours i was publishing the game and because this is my first time publishing to itch.io i faced some problems and and the worse than all of that is i made this game just in 4 days and in the past 5 days before it i was making another game idea but it failed so i started this project with a new idea, also it's my first jam ever so it won't be that good but i'm happy that i have participated!. anyway thanks for the review i appreciate it a lot :D .

Nice little game I really enjoyed playing! Though the music is way too loud and annoying and I really wished I could have turned it off.

Developer

This isn't the music itself it is a bug in the game that i hope i could fix but there was a too little time so i couldn't fix it, but anyway thanks for the review i appreciate it :D
