Love the straight on remake style using the original artwork! Platform collision was a bit strange sometimes as there were many times when I would just fall through a solid part (though maybe I was missing something?). Getting a letter made me think the game crashed for a second until I realized I could look around hahaha. Very solid!
I don't know if you made this or just uploaded a rom! Crazy how true this feels to the original. Really well done and I loved the twist when I finally lit up my first letter. Great entry, and even though the collisions could be frustrating, I believe that was very much by design and fit the task well.
I like how close you kept this to the original! The music and art is well done. I'd say I'd rather the enemies stop and turn when they hit a gap, and the platforming could be smoother. Overall, great work!
Amazing how close to the original you got this. It was quite fun, but the one thing that might have been worth fixing is the platform colliders/jumping. Because the edges of the platform aren’t solid I find myself aiming to jump through the platform not the hole, which is a bit jarring. But great attempt :)
Very faithful version of the original game with some improvements that made the game less troublesome. However I had some issues with the platforms where I could jump up through the middle of the next platform when jumping up through a gap sometimes. Also, the gaps seemed to be a little off when trying to land on them. The 3D part at the end of each letter collection was fun. I messed around up there a little and saw some mailboxes. Good work.
The bad - collision detection on platforms, holes speed up when jump and can change direction, energy didn't seem to go down, can see some platforms on the right that shouldn't be there
The good - Better than the original version in my opinion, while faithful to the original I'm glad that the player can now move in the air when jumping, I like the 3D twist at the end and how you can look down the hole, that's awesome, also glad that you took out the things that made the original difficult and made it a much more reasonable difficulty level
I dig that you sticked that close to the original, even ripping the art :D
But I had some technicals problems, sometimes I could just jump or fall through platforms or collide with enemies that were on the platform above me.
I had the same issues. Seemed to work only when I screen wrapped then jumped upon entering the frame.
