Unbelievable ! A great game, where you did everything. Wow, well done.
Thanks. I have learned to love the power of tiny textures and cubes! Keep it simple I say
Fun and easy to pick up is my takeaway from this!
It's sumo wrestlingxbumper cards, so really what's not to like?
The shape randomizing part of the character customization was a cool addition.
The AI seemed to do a good job, reminded me a little of the faux-multiplayer on some .io games. It killed me a few times when I got too greedy.
Could totally see this working commercially with a little bit of expansion.
Cool entry, nice job!
Thanks. I am curious to see what 8 humans would be like. The AI is good when it's good but it does not really have the killer instinct that a human would have. When the AI gets you it is more luck than judgment.
As expected from you, the technical accomplishment in this entry is astounding, considering that you do everything by yourself! Bravo! The idea is nice, and handling the split screen and the second player is the nice touch! To be honest, though, the various power up functions are unclear, and having a second bar under the boost bar (which I deduce stands for the health) and with the same color is confusing at best. Anyway, great job!
The energy bar is a fair point. I had orginally designed it with a total of 4 players and all the health bars on screen. when I doubled it to 8 the screen space for the other bars was too much. I always knew it was going to be ultra simple as I scoped that part as a 'it will just have to do' part of my to do list. I was having to be really disiplined as I knew I had a lot less time and energy than usual. Still plenty to add in the future I guess. Thanks for the nice words. I really enjoyed yours too. Lots of juice!
good game. After I read the guide, the goal was clearer. the controls were a little bit hard to get used to but I think it contributed a bit to the challenge. adding 2 player here was brilliant and a feat for 7 days.
Thanks. If only I had my head around networking. I'd like to try it out with 8 humans at once
Very good game, the controls as others have said take a bit of getting used too but after I got used to them this game was very fun, the AI is very well made and very good ideas for the powerups and good design of the arena, good job!
Thanks. I am finding myself wondering if making the input either or up and down Arrows fits withing the spirit of polish. Not sure if it's a fundimental change or a minor tweak...
Can we still tweak things? Says the deadlines today for tweaking things, but does that mean todays the last day or it has ended today you think?
It sounds like a minor tweak to me but i'd ask in the discord
I think it closes tonight at midnight. I decided to leave it as is. Part of it being that way was to do with the theme anyway. The boost is behind and thus the control points backwards. Subtle and not really that significant but that was my contribution to the theme, exploring all the bits I could with leaving behind.
Good game. The only issue I had was that key layout is a bit unnatural. Putting the thrust on 'W' and '↑' would help a lot.
That's fair. It's a bit of a hang over from when I was thinking about 4 player split screen. Then I realised the chances of that mode actually being played was zero. Thanks for the feedback.
This was amazing! I love the randomness between each round as well, I started with a really small arena on the first go around (and may have flown off the edge!), but my second time I started with a 100 size 0.0
The AI was really fun and aggressive at times! and I love the create your own character section :)
Also the art for the floor tiles was amazing ♥
Thanks fella. I am pleased you enjoyed it. How difficult do you think it would be to impliment the networking stuff you pulled off? I am tempted to give it a go.
Great game; I was really impressed with the enemy AI, they felt organic like I was battling other players. Really solid arena layout with some cool powerups to use too. I enjoyed the physics, skidding around the arena was a blast and very satisfying, knocking enemies off the platform. Another smart game.
Thanks dude. I was really not sure i'd be able to take part in this one, but I managed to make this with a lot less time than I normally would. I have never been so disciplined with feature creep in my life! I even submitted it way ahead of the deadline. I've changed! I am pleased with how it turned out. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best way to go.
This game is amazing. Once I got used to the controls I had a great time playing it. The controls where smooth, the AI was good and I liked the way the mines were released. Overall this is a really good game and I loved playing it
Thanks. I am pleased you liked it.
I struggled a bit with the controls but the game has a nice music and atmosphere, it's pretty unique and I like that !
Thanks for playing. Can I ask for more specific feedback on the controls? Was it the key choices or how it worked that you found tricky? I had a few alternatives up my sleeve but settled on this set up in the end. Curious what you think might be better? Always up for suggestions.
This is a really cool game. Reminds me of the sumo bots that we have in college hahahaha. The 2 player mode is also cool which then reminds me of good ol' multiplayer game with friends/siblings. Didn't expect that AI for a game jam but it is really cool. I also like the shrinking arena which makes it more challenging. Well done!
And I rated the game don't worry hahahaha
Ta. I am pleased you like it. I might be showing my age with this good ol' concept lol. Classics are there to be twisted after all!
Pretty cool submission! Really awesome that you were able to integrate a 2 player mode into your game! That's a very ambitious feature! It's a pretty fun battle royale style game akin to something like Bomberman, really neat concept! The AI was surprisingly pretty good for a game jam made in 2 weeks. The music and sound effects sounded pretty 80s sci-fi, I do think the song got a little repetitive fast. Pretty solid gameplay though, the controls were simply but hard to get good with. I do love challenging games though! Great creation for just being made by 1 person in just 1 week. :)
Thanks. I would have loved to have more time and headspace for things like menus and music. It was not to be this time round. I am pleased you enjoyed it.

Heey! Yeah my rating has been saved. 😁
Graphically, super unique.
I respect the simplicity of mechanics that make it easy to play and enjoy.
Thanks.

Fun game! I notice a similarity in the music between this and Six Sided Solids: you definitely have a style! I had fun learning the mechanics, which were pretty intuitive, while failing to win at first. Watching the match resolve between AIs helped with this learning, and I was able to win on the third or fourth game, I think. I imagine that the two player mode would be even better, and do plan to check it out.
A brilliant submission, especially considering that you've been unwell. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks fella. Style is a bit of a stretch. I know what I can bang out in an hour that's true! I am pleased you liked it. I had a week with very little crunch which makes a change. Maybe being ill and having brain fog is a good thing?

Mine is yeah. I noticed this on my own submission, too. Can you check that yours saved?
It was saved but I pressed the button again to make sure. I have had a couple of times I went to leave and had a prompt to let me know it was not done. I'd imagine some people are closing the tab thinking all is done.
Frustrating!
Yeah I am missing 3 based on the comments left.
very cool game, I really like the aesthetics and the creation of your character, adds a nice touch to the game. The gameplay is quite fun and I'm sure it's even better with 2 players. Good job!
Thanks. I'd love to make it multiplayer so it's all humans. That would be fun.

a very funny game, I like your game design art style the last game you made and the new one both have something in similar
Great work man
Thanks matey. I know what I like for sure. When I say what I like, what I really mean is what I am capable of pulling off in a week! LOL

Really fun game ! The controls are on point and boosting is satisfying :D The only negative thing i can say is the AI is a bit dumb. Its really easy to win :] Also randomising your look at the start is a great addition i spent 3 minutes just looking at the randomised cars :D Overall it was fun i will play again with my brother soon :]
Thanks. I look forward to seeing what you made this time. Loved Forest Fire.
I have fixed the bug with the AI where they would just stop. They are still a bit dumb, but less LOL
I liked the idea of this game, can't wait to see more.
Thanks. I wish I had had more time and energy for it this week. Lots still on the list without ticks!

Such a great entry, really well executed and a lot of fun, nice one :D I noticed after my first playthrough that the dots surrounding the player were indicators pointing to the other players which I thought was a nice feature. I found it a little bit difficult to distinguish between pickups and mines (which I think were squares and circles respectively?) but can't think of much else in terms of feedback. I didn't get a chance to play it two-player but can imagine it would be good fun ;)
Thanks matey. You are correct about which is which. I wanted to have a degree of danger with picking up the power ups. Should you go for it or not vibe? It is definitly a better experience against a human, the AI is quite complicated as it is and they are still not very good at the game!
I liked the possibility to play with a friend, but I'm not sure about the AI instead. It seems like enemies move random and sometimes stop without a reason and wait for their end
Indeed sometimes it all gets too much for the AI and they freeze. They don't move randomly though which is part of the reason they freeze. I could not work out what exactly was causing it before the deadline.
