cool concept. i would love to see controller support, as the buttons already have the correct colors. really fun game.
One of the best suggestions I've had so far, I will seriously consider this for a later update.
Really fun and creative concept. It's very very hard to control (10/10 on theme matching), but you can still try and wait for the right moment to fly in the right direction or shoot an enemy. Great job!
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked i
I really like the idea. Only small thing I would have changed: The keys are pretty small in the bottom right corner, I would have printed them directly on the modules so that you can look at the player model all the time instead of looking at the corner from time to time. Besides that: Really really nice game, fits the theme perfectly!
This is actually a pretty common suggestion, though I don't want to print letters directly on the hub (as that would detract from the minimalism), perhaps I'll think of another way to do this post-jam
It is very difficult to get used to the controls.
Difficult, but worth the investment :)
Yeah, it's really fun once you get into it
I love the concept, though I've seen games with the same idea of recoiling to move. Anyways, great job!
Yeah yeah I made a shoot-to-move game hahaha. Though it is slightly different as you have multiple, configurable cannons that are shot in sets, rather than a single gun.
You are right, its different, but I was talking about the relevance to the theme too.
I really felt out of control all the time :)
A bit too difficult, maybe you can find a way to let the player be more in control, without changing radically the mechanics because it's fun. Maybe instead of rotating when shooting, constantly rotate?
I probably won't change how the player moves, as it's pretty core to the game. However, re-balancing enemy spawns is definitely a possibility. You actually have a lot of control over your ship after you get used to it, though there's a learning curve to it.
This is just so creative! Really nice game concept! But maybe a little too hard for me XD
The art is simple and the sound are feeling very nice!
Really well done!
Also, pls feel free to check out my game :D
Definitely a hard game, I'll probably re-balance it post-jam
This game makes me go YES!
Thanks!
It was fun to shoot and move! You should keep working on it! Congrats on successfully submitting a game to the jam and I hope you learned a lot of new things. Please check out my game when you have time :D
Thanks for the feedback! I think I actually already saw your game haha!
Nice game i really enjoyed it and i gave it a rating, also if you could check out my game and give it a rating that would mean a lot :)
Hahaha! Sure thing :)
Ah, really went on the nerves but i still managed to get 1420 in score. Cool idea, well done!
Congratulations! Any score over 1200 is really good. I'll honestly be very surprised if anyone beats my high :)
Very frustrating, but also very on-theme!
I agree, it is very difficult
Nice idea, love it how you lose control when you get hurt.
Haha, you lose control no matter what you do :)
I meant actually losing part of yourself which leads to less control.
Very cool and unique idea, pretty fun as well. It does get kind of hard to control, but I guess that's part of the challenge of the game. I noticed a bug where the square enemy guys could sometimes spawn outside of the map, just thought I'd let you know about it.
Thanks, I'll try to fix that in a post-jam version
A really good idea, kinda hard and derpy though (reminded me a bit of QWOP if you played it ^^).
Is the level randomly generated ?
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, the level is procedurally generated using a form of cellular automata
Awesome, always wanted to get my hands dirty on this kind of generation to do some worms-like level but never had the courage to get my head into it. Especially for a 48h jam ^^
Here's an amazing series that I used https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7yyZZjF1z4
