This is a really cool concept. Having to work out the moves in advance is a really fun and interesting mechanic

Developer(+1)

Thanks! As soon as we got the idea we knew it was what we would go with for the competition.

Submitted(+2)

such a cool idea!! i really love the concept :D its so rare to see fast paced-puzzles that arent just stressing to play so well done!! i absoluetly love it

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+2)

I have a seen Mark playing the game yesterday and really wanted to try it out. It's a very nice idea! I like how elegant the design is, you really nailed it. Good job. :)

Developer

Thanks, I’m glad you like it!

Submitted(+2)

I loved the creativity, I liked that instead of simply dropping something completely unpredictable into the player's hand, we can see in advance the next steps and the time left! I don't have much to talk about in general, I just think that maybe, with this labyrinth system, doors could advance to the next levels, along with the red walls, maybe it would be more challenging! Great job!

Just a tip, when compressing, avoid compressing just the files, compress the folder as a whole, for organization reasons, some people may end up clicking on the famous Extract Here!

Developer

We plan on making a full version of the game after the jam is over with more levels and features! Also we’ll keep in mind that tip for compressing files next time!

Submitted(+2)

What a creative game! I liked having to quickly try and figure out the best position for the movements, and trying to avoid the red walls. Very simple mechanics, but great polish! Just a few sound effects would be super nice.

Great job though!

Developer

We have that in the pipeline! Stay tuned for a full release of the game soon, with more features!

Submitted(+2)

This is a very creative game. It makes you think quick on your feet as you scramble to find a good spot to sit. the game feel is nice but with a few sound effects and it would be even better.

Developer(+1)

We’re going to do a full release after the jam is over, and sound effects and music are among the top priorities! Check back here after the jam and maybe we’ll have more info!

The mechanics for this game are absolutely rock solid and it's really fun to play. The game just needs some sound and also some balancing (for example stuff like <><> occurs way too often because it's essentially the same as <>).

Developer

That’s a good thought about the balancing, right now the game just generates a random sequence that’s guaranteed to be possible within a certain number of moves from the player’s current position, but I didn’t really put any thought into making sure the sequences are complex enough. We’ll discuss it and maybe consider changing it in the game’s full release… (stay tuned for that!)

I played the game and it was so fun, and so creative version of a maze! This is from the best games that I played in this game jam, and this month! Amazing work!

What did I like?
- The game mechanics.
- Player movements are so smooth!
- Camera shake.
- Player animation, and flipping.
- The level design.
- The art of the game.
- The UI. (Minimlastic and so clean)
Suggestions:
- Add a background music.
- Add and play a SFX when the player hits the wall.
- Maybe also add, play a SFX when the player died.

I promise that I learned a lot of things from this game!

Amazing work guys! Keep making games, and never give up!

Developer(+2)

Wow thank you for the feedback!! Grady and I used to make small games together back in highschool but we have been rather preoccupied for the last few years with college. Because of current world situations, we suddenly had a bit more time on our hands so I suggested we do this game jam, and man was it a good idea!

I feel like making this game reestablished our passion towards making games, and I feel like we might continue work on our older games, so stay tuned for those if you liked the feel of this game :)

Submitted(+1)

Happy to hear that guys! All the best! Keep going and never give up! :)

I clicked on play button, then it shows this!

Is this a bug? (Windows version) If no, how to fix it?

Submitted(+2)

Let me download again and see! This time, I will download without itch.io app!

Developer(+2)

Strange... I run it through the Itch app and it works fine (also Windows). I think I might know what is causing that problem, and I will do some messing around to see if I can cause it and then fix it. In the meantime, let me know if it works fine when download through the website :)

Submitted(+2)

I downloaded the game again without itch.io app, and it is working fine! I think the bug is from itch.io app! (I am playing now)

Developer (1 edit)

Glad you got it to work! By chance, does the path to your Itch app files contain a space? That is the only thing that immediately stands out as a possibility. That was a problem at one point in development, but it should have been taken care of, as I cannot get it to happen again.

Submitted(+1)

Does the path to your Itch app files contain a space? No!

Submitted(+2)

Beautifully designed and executed.   Brilliant concept and unique use of the theme.  The pressure builds and eases nicely allowing a good sense of stress and relief as you are playing.   Adding multiplayer and the ability to paint over each others colours could make this game an absolutely deadly party game :)

Developer

We hadn't considered that yet! Multiplayer with different colors is a great idea! We will definitely add that to the design board :)

Glad you liked our game! :)

Developer

Ooh I love that idea! We’re actually planning on making an updated version of the game with lots more features, so check back after the jam ends and maybe we’ll have more info on that!

Submitted(+1)

Have already added it to my favourites from the Jam.   If couch co-op can be part of that design board I am definitely picking fights in my living room with this game :D

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

I saw your game on Mark's stream and I found the idea excellent! The game would be perfect with music & sounds. I would also add 4 colors for the 4 arrows to make them more recognizable at first sight.

Developer(+2)

Different colored arrows is a good idea, but I'd have to rewatch Mark's video on accessibility first XD.

We plan on adding music and sounds in a future update so stay posted :)

(+2)

I got 71! Very fun game, what you have is executed perfectly

Developer(+1)

Looks like we need to update the game description XD! Thank you for the praise!

Submitted(+2)

Love the idea for this game. Found it super fun trying to plan future moves even though i'm being told the information. The simplistic art is also really nice, just makes the game feel so simple yet fun.  SFX definitely would have improved the feedback while moving around / being hit, but its simple enough that not much is taken away from the core experience. Great game!

Developer(+2)

Sound effects were originally intended, but we got pretty close to the end of the submission time. We will definitely be adding them in a future update though so stay tuned!

Submitted(+2)

Brilliant mix of puzzle and action!

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+2)

Great idea, the concept works well :) Simple but effective

Developer(+1)

Appreciated!

(+2)

This engaged me pretty quickly! Would work on mobile potentially - a good commuter game type thing. Quite difficult though

Developer(+1)

Hmm maybe we'll make a mobile version at some point!

Submitted(+2)

Very fun game. It would have really been improved with some sounds.

Developer(+1)

We wanted to add them but we ran out of time for them... they'll likely be coming in a future update though!

Submitted(+2)

wow this was a very unique and interesting game.

I wasn't able to beat this.  It would be nice if maybe there were levels that started smaller.  Or maybe like in minesweeper where you choose the size of the board.
But very good, it was a lot of fun

Developer(+1)

After the jam is over we definitely intend to add that feature. In fact, that was the idea from the start, but we wanted to get other features out of the way first. As you can see, we submitted with a little over 5 minutes left before the deadline, and I still haven't slept in 36 hours XD.

Thanks for the feedback :)

Submitted(+2)

oh dang lol 5 mins to deadline is insane.  We were worried the servers might falter and submitted very early lol.  Yeah, no judgement from me on missing features lol i know how the jam do.  Good job

Developer(+2)

Yeah as Cooper said, these ideas were on the table, we just didn't have enough time to implement everything. This game is supposed to be challenging, and painting the entire maze is supposed to be extremely hard. Right now it's more of a high score game. Glad you enjoyed it though!

Submitted(+2)

This is lots of fun, the evil walls keep you on your toes

Developer(+1)

Yeah it's pretty challenging haha. Glad you like it

Submitted(+2)

Great game, trying to make quick decisions about where to place myself whilst mapping the path I'l be made to move is a lot of fun

Developer(+1)

Glad you like it!
