Clever concept! I would love to see more levels in the future!

How does your game fit the theme?
The game takes control of the player every few seconds, so you must anticipate what will happen to avoid danger! Take advantage of when the game takes control in order to paint as many tiles as you can!

Really great concept and execution!
Simple graphics and UI (but very effective), awesome idea and implementation of the theme, and a great control scheme.
I really like the preview of moves that the game will perform for you; reminds me of tetris with the upcoming blocks. It makes it strategic and hectic, trying to figure out where to place yourself before the timer runs out.
One of my favourites in the jam; fantastic job!
Cool idea! Presentation could be improved with some music and sfx. Pretty addicting nonetheless. Great job :)
This is such a cool idea!
Look what the moves are, scan the map for nearby areas to maximizie you coverage of new tiles or at least find a spot that's safe and then get there in time.
The game gets quite franctic and I think for something of a full release there should be some easier modes but this brings the concept across quite well and has a pretty high skill ceiling. I never managed to fill in all spots, my best is 61 which I'm already quite proud of.
The presentation is simple, yet sleek. What I think could be improved are the arrows, maybe make them a bit easier to tell the direction from at a glance.
And some sound effects and music would be cool, too.
But all in all a very cool game, you have done a great job!
Thanks for the feedback! We’re actually planning on not only updating this release of the game to be more polished, but also releasing a full version of the game with lots more levels and mechanics!
We actually did change the direction chevrons to arrows and we think it makes it easier to tell what will happen at a glance, so stay tuned for the update that fixes that! We’re working on implementing some good sound effects that will enhance the feel of the game, as that has been easily the most common suggestion we’ve received.
61 is a good score! Glad you enjoyed the game :)
this game fits the theme in a way i didnt think of and it gets really addictive. sure, most games have this mechanic, but the execution is exellent. is perfectly balanced: its not unfair because you can see what the game is gonna do, but also is not easy because you have few time to make your move. amazing game. 5/5. good job
Interesting idea, great presentation and level design. I like how the game tells me what inputs are coming next. It gets pretty intense in later levels.
Very interesting idea. It has a simple gameplay loop and it is satisfying seeing your plan work out. Great puzzle game, well done :)
This is a really nice game! I like the simple visuals and while some audio would be nice the screen shake makes the game feel nice and punchy.
I think the game is designed really nicely. If you stay in one place it is fairly easy to solve each of the upcoming control sequences. But the magic comes from needing to move to new areas you aren't familiar with to paint more tiles. Despite some other comments, I feel like the difficulty is pretty well tuned. On my first go I managed to get around 40, and 50 on my second. I think if I played it for a bit longer (which I'm keen to do!) I would keep improving too. That said, some of the red wall alignments can feel particularly punishing.
I'd love to see this idea fleshed out a little more to see how it plays out. I think this is a really nice core idea that you could try some extra features/maze layouts on. Really great work!
Thank you kind user! You should have heard Grady and me in the Discord call when we had the idea to paint the tiles as the objective, so that it forces the player to travel around the map. We're really glad that you picked up on that design intention :) We do plan to continue development on the game once the game jam ends, and sounds will be one of the new features. We originally inded to have them for the jam release, but we ran out of time.
Stay tuned for the next updated with sounds and more :)
Pretty cool idea, but a bit difficult. The best I could manage was around 40. Some sound would be a welcome addition as well.
Music and sound effects are in the pipeline! Stay tuned for a full release of the game.
Right now, it’s supposed to be extremely difficult to paint all 81 tiles, so it’s more of a high score challenge to see how many you can paint. In the full version, we’re planning on having different levels, as Cooper mentioned.
such a cool idea!! i really love the concept :D its so rare to see fast paced-puzzles that arent just stressing to play so well done!! i absoluetly love it
I loved the creativity, I liked that instead of simply dropping something completely unpredictable into the player's hand, we can see in advance the next steps and the time left! I don't have much to talk about in general, I just think that maybe, with this labyrinth system, doors could advance to the next levels, along with the red walls, maybe it would be more challenging! Great job!
Just a tip, when compressing, avoid compressing just the files, compress the folder as a whole, for organization reasons, some people may end up clicking on the famous Extract Here!
