How does your game fit the theme?
Our game features mechanics that limits the player's options to control the character, which can be taken back with skillful play. It is contextualized through a haunted video game that curses your controller as you receive damage.

Wow!! What a cool game, it's fun, it's beautiful, it has an exciting song, it has a really cool story, it's very creative, I just loved it, even though it's very simple! Excellent job!

Beautiful game! The whole thing has so much polish. And the losing control mechanics were very well-done. Great job!

Crazy good game. So simple but so polished, the concept is neat and the gameplay is challenging but still fun. Once you start getting a lot of controls "cursed" it gets difficult but thanks to the kick mechanic the levels are still playable and progression is possible. Overall a very good experience!

The polish here is wild. Beautiful looking game and great music and sound. Very smart to put that NES with the candle on display at all times as it is gorgeous. Would have loved to see that candle flicker and smoke from the incense to waft.

However, I do have to say that the gameplay didn't keep me engaged. I made it to level 7 where there were 3 different enemy types, but it was never dynamic enough for my taste. The attacks are nice, but it got repetitive at that point. Sometimes you get stuck after killing all of the enemies in a level and have to wait until the control bubble comes near you so you can hit it and progress. Might work better if you got all of your control back if all the enemies were killed.

I can see you worked very hard on the art and I think that is very impressive. I'd love to see your skill applied in future games! Keep up the good work.

Wow! Such a well polished game! The overall quality is way above average! This game deserves a solider 5 stars all around! Great job!

I always, always love seeing your games in jams Crowno! This one has everything. The screen folding? Warping? The Mario Bros. 2 effect is such a great mechanic and it keeps running out of controls from being completely disastrous. Congrats to all involved! This is a great game.

This is a criminally underrated game. I had so much fun, and I'm begging you to release the song on youtube so I can listen to it in my free time...

5/5 in all categories! Fun, gorgeous, and original. Thanks for this gem!

Looks nice, but has problems in the browser sometimes (when not in fullscreen) since the up and down keys move the page...... otherwise, pretty neat!

You can use WASD and JK instead

This game looks, sounds, and feels absolutely amazing! One of the better spins on the "losing your controls" concept I've seen so far.

This was a blast! The constantly blocked off controls added a real dynamic challenge, and the levels were dynamic fun! The different enemy variations were great, and I had a lot of fun playing it. Great job!

I wish I could rate this again.

5 stars all around. I didn't expect to play through the entire game, but the controls are simple and the gameplay is very fun. The art is professionally made and the music sets the tone right. Fantastic job overall, this looks like a winning game.

The retro feel of this game is so good. The game as a whole is highly polished and it is just insane that it was made only in 48 h. The gameplay is cool, but only when there are the devil heads, that eat your controls the full potential of this game is developed. Even the first levels were fun, but then it is just amazing.

This game is too good. The way this adheres to "Out Of Control" is pretty typical for this jam -- losing movement/attack controls -- but it is still easily one of the best executions of that approach that I've seen. The developers took the idea and ran with it by focusing on the creative and interesting directions that a single mechanic could go, and it resonates really well.

Additionally, the music, sound effects, animations, and art are really pleasant and have a strong stylistic theme that simultaneously ties in with the jam theme and establishes the mood. The GUI has a couple of elements that make it a little too spaced out; there's a significant amount of text happening on the side that I am 100% never going to read (in the middle of trying to flying-kick a poltergeist before it eats my controls), and the health bar blends into the periphery a bit.

The controls are extremely refined; I love that the flying kick locks onto the nearest thing so your character has some last-ditch directional control even if the entire D-pad is possessed! I did find myself wanting diagonal controls for projectiles and ended up almost exclusively using the kick instead. Maybe it's possible to shoot diagonally and I just didn't figure it out?

Wonderful, wonderful art and audio. My only critique is that the game only shows the theme when the player is hit, and then it gets dramatically harder for the player. Maybe getting hit causes a spirit ball that controls different parts of the controller at random?

Still a great game though.
