Good take on the theme wouldn't call it "fun" but a good narrative experiance.
Fun? Maybe not. Engaging and heart wrenching? Absolutely
Suprisingly hard hitting for a jam game - good job!
This narrative.. Thank you for that experience. Much needed in this times, somethings are really just out of our control.
I like your take on the topic. Solid game.
Game is well-made, and the presentation is really strong. I think what's missing is simply a focus on the player interactivity. I could have done with some more consequence to my choices, though I do understand it's hard to implement within a jam.
I appreciate the feedback! Indeed, beyond affecting what conversations will occur down the line, I did not have time to implement more impactful changes given the scope of this game.
Such a cool experience and it was really fun, This is so well executed I love it. :D
I was really worried that something terrible was going to happen while we were out for ice cream!
Short, but a good tense experience.
Sorry if that caused you any worry! Just as in real life, this story had a happy ending, I wasn’t going to change that for contrived shock value.
wow, this is a really deep game.. A really nice execution, everything feels out of control on those situations. Really nice dialog, you did some great writing. Sometimes the music started looping before it ended and two tracks were playing at the same time. Nice job!, original entry!
Uh oh. Thanks for the heads up! Unfortunately I did most of my testing in the PC version of the game and not as much in the HTML5 version. Perhaps when the rating period is over I'll be able to fix that and perhaps include a download link for an EXE which might not be subject to the same error. Apparently audio is just generally buggy in GameMaker Studio's HTML5 builds.
Not a big deal, for the most time it works as intended!
I expected a game like this. Pretty accurately fits the theme but on a deep level. Good job!
Phew. Hard to go through but interesting non the less. Great entry!
Hit me in the feels for sure. Appreciate the warnings though.
I thought this game was fun and a good idea
Loved the narrative throughout and the music really set the tone of the game well, not too happy yet not too sad, like hope. A really well structured story in a short amount of time, well done!
Really interesting game. Indeed a different and interesting way of interpreting the theme. I think it would be even better with a longer narrative, to emphasize the theme and atmosphere. All in all, this is a really nice game, the art style is pleasing (just a little weird in the character models, in my opinion), the music fits rather nicely and the narrative is touching. Good work.
Thanks for your feedback! Indeed, I had plans to make it longer, but naturally I had to cut things out in order to submit in time.
Do you plan on releasing this longer version in a later moment? I would be really interested on playing it.
Once the rating period is over I will include the cut conversation, maybe add a few polish details I didn't have time for. It wouldn't be a much longer game, maybe another minute or so, but if I feel inspired I could always add some additional conversations.
This one hit hard with the feels, love the narrative approach to this time.
Man, I've had people in my family experience this type of situation more than once and this being what came to mind when you thought of being out of control is very applicable. Much prefer to see more of this than "your controls have changed" I went for something similar, but you did so much better with the theme
Well done :)
A cool take on the theme! Really liked the art style and the music choice.
Very interesting concept! I liked how you guys went for a more narrative approach. Very nice overall.
