That out of control spinning part was kind of frustrating, since it was really hard to move around precisely. Could definitely use some music to fill the background.
But other than that - simple and fun platformer/infinite runner.
Also - the game description on the game page is funny :)
Yeah! as Quentin Delvallet says the tongue is not useful sometimes, you could do some levels where the player only uses the language. In the meantime, the game is really fun to play.
Okay, for a second I read M. Click ^^
It's a neat platformer, it even got procedural level generation! Aside from that, I felt like the tongue was not that useful for most of the game
Nice game! The controls feel nice.
I think the visuals are amazing, but the mechanic seems to need some work. Interesting concept, though! I'd love to see a fully realized version of this game. Good job!
I really like the artstyle and the pacing of the game. While the spinning can be out of control, I wish there were more elements that incorporated the theme.
Anyways, the game is good, I had fun and I'm a fan of the tongue mechanic, I'd really like to see it explored more. Great job :)
I like the game, the frog is pretty, and the auto generate levels give a good feeling. Have a little bug with the movement with the tongue that make that the camera left me and i dont die but i like the feeling of the game
Nice game, but it feels like the tongue should rotate anti-clockwise rather than clockwise. Overall, the mechanic just seems a bit forced - only there to satisfy the theme.
Thank you for the feedback. :) I tried both directions, there's even a variable to flip them per node, but I found ccw to be far less enjoyable / less useful. Not forced, just didn't have time to flesh it out as intended. In fact I started with that concept and everything else was a last minute hail mary to get something playable.
Would be nice with a little more control when the tongue connects. Not sure if i did it wrong but i kept spinning and drawn to the connection point. Good graphics and well executed, good job!
As much as I agree, adding more control to a mechanic where you spin out of control though. Can't say I have much agency there. :) You did nothing wrong, was meant to simulate the whole centripetal force thing. Thank you for the feedback!
I like the concept, the art and sound is awesome. I would say that generally the tongue mechanic feels unnecessary
Cute art and cool touch with the generated levels!
Though it is a bit buggy, I got stuck to one swing point and could get infinite score for example.
This game is pretty unique! It's a fun game, but it's easy to break. A jump buffer and a couple of collision boxes to reset the level when you're out of bounds no matter where will probably bring this game up a couple notches!
I like the grapple tongue, fun mechanic!
Loved the art and sound effects XD I had a couple issues with platforms not being perfectly level and blocking movement. Didn't find the tongue mechanic very useful at all, but it was fun as heck to send the little guy flying and just hope for the best!
Nice aesthetics on this game.
The good:
The art is gorgeous, the game is functional and pretty fun.
The bad:
The tongue mechanic is relatively useless at 90% you can jump across gaps.
And the game speeds up a little too fast for my liking.
Suggestions:
Maybe make it so that certain map layouts require you to use the orange and blue pads to get across.
Maybe slow down the rate where the game progresses at least a little.
Overall, keeping in mind that this was a 48 hour gamejam, I'd say good job! :)
10/ why is my tongue a catapult.
Joking aside, I like the gameplay of your game, the controls are responive. It lacks a tiny bit of variance. Gets also hard as balls very quikly.
I had fun, good job :)
