How does your game fit the theme?
You are connected to your Soul. You have to kick the Soul Jar away in order to kill enemies. But if you stay away from it for some time you start loosing hp.

One of the most polished games I've played this jam. The attacks and enemies all felt really hefty and tactile in a fun way, and you even had time to put in a really good boss. Had a lot of fun!
Fun mechanic. Feels really satisfying to play.
Super unique mechanic ( at least to me) loved this
Cool mechanic and great art. I wish death didn't send you back to the start, because after dying to the boss a few times I gave up. Sometimes he shoots a magnet crystal while offscreen, so you can't see where it will go, and the soul gets pulled faster than you can chase it so you're pretty much toast.
Thanks for playing! When the boss shoots the crystals you should be near the center of the room so that you have enough time to take cover behind the Jar. There should be some checkpoints though. Good luck with your game!
Amazing idea on how to implement the jams theme into a game. Kicking the jar feels so strong. Especially because the enemies are ripped apart down into their individual parts.
The pixel art and music are gorgeous. There are so much details and love put into the overall presentation of the game.
Unfortunately, the game was just a little too short and too easy. I would have liked to play more (and difficult) levels.
Despite that, i think this is a amazing game. My respect to delivered that in 48 hours.
Thanks for playing! We are glad you like it!
The problem with making a rogulike for a GameJame, is that this genre is too "target specific". If the difficulty satisfies a seasoned "roguliker", it will be too hard for the rest of the players. And vise versa. We tried to make a game that is challenging, but beatable, always acording the average player. And even now, there are people that find it to difficult or too easy (like you). So, I guess there should be a difficulty adjusting algorithm, but 48 hours is way too little a time for something like that.
And yeah, we are actually considering the possibility of expanding this prototype.
Your feedback is really appreciated! Good luck with your game!
Pretty cool! I wish there were a few changes though. 1- Checkpoints after every level. 2- Heals after every level. 3- An endless mode where I can keep attacking the enemies because that was so much fun! Please check out my submission too!
Thank you for the feedback! Indeed, there could be an easy mode.
Good luck!
Really cool game, I only really don't like how you get sent all the way back to the start after death.
Thanks! Yeah, it can be too punishing some times. We thought of adding a difficulty option, but we weren't able to implement it in the given time frame.
Good luck!
Wonderful time working on this game! really fun team
Full 5 Star rating in all categories for me, this is my favorite entry so far! Snappy animations with great feel, super interesting unique mechanic, great topic, this has everything. would love to play this as a fully fleshed out game on switch with analog sticks! GOOD LUCK! :)
We are really happy you like it. It means a lot!
thanks!
Beautiful art and good idea. It is a bit too difficult, and restarting from the beginning is unnecessarily punishing. It also means the iffy parts have more time to annoy because I had to play it four times. For example, the collision with the bats is a bit wanky, and sometimes the pattern of the boss seems impossibly difficult to face.
Thanks for playing. I get what you mean about the bats. But, what exactly happened during the boss? What, problem did you encounter? Thanks for the feedback!
Maybe I was just playing to recklessly, but quite some times he would throw my soul cage so far away I inevitably took damage, or I had to run through a hailstorm of projectiles to get close to the cage and die from that. But most likely I was playing to aggressive, and I was a bit annoyed yesterday :
Nice Game! I like the idea and it has really nice graphics! I especially liked the rhyme cinematic at the beginning ! But i found that you can just hide behind the jar and attack enemies.
Glad you liked it. Using the jar as a cover was actually intented... Thanks for playing!
Had nice time with a nice team!
Was a very nice experience working to make this game come true!
