I like the game! Spent quite a while playing the levels and the music and art fit really well together, it's great to see how much can be done with such simple art.
Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it! :)
Nice! The graphics actually go very well together with the music and I had a good time playing your game :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice idea, innovative and matches the theme. One of the games I really like.
Here a list of stuff to improve and how i would prioritize it roughly:
1) checkpoints right in front of each section, so it does not feel like death but more like a "puzzle reset"
2) the physics are a bit inaccurate
3) visualize which block which the player controls
4) find a way the buttons won't get pressed twice unintentionally
5) add a visual feedback onto the audio feedback when pressing a button
6) cut the game into levels and reward the player with visuals and audio on solving one
7) shorten the text messages and increase text size
(rated by effect not by effort to achieve)
I guess most of this you are aware already but did not have the time to implement yet.
Great job!
Thanks a lot for the feedback! This is like a summary of all the comments i got with additional useful stuff!
1) Yes, i will do that for my next puzzle platformer definetly, or just make one - screen levels like you said in point 6.
2) I know that the collision sometimes doesn´t work right, this is one of the hardest things for me.
3) That´s a pretty good idea i haven´t thought about yet. I added the particles when you (dis-)connect but that would have been a coll addition too.
4) I realised that too, but i unfortanetly have no idea how.
5) Didn´t have the time, was on my list though.
7) The problem with the text size is mainly because i had a different canvas size in Unity than i had on itch.io. I will try to do that better next time.
But again: Thanks a lot for the feedback, i´m really glad you enjoyed it! :)
It's a cool game, but checkpoints are really important. I died to the first enemy and was brought back to the very beginning. I also think some simple sound feedback when pressing the buttons would be really good.
Actually, there is a sound when pressing the buttons! Just listen more closely, it´s pretty loud. Yes, i know about the checkpoints, that´s a major flaw in my game, but that´s why i participated: To learn something new, and improve my games! :)
Yeah I won! Good job, If you dedicated some more time to the game presentation it’d be awesome. Also, I’d add checkpoints or make the levels shorter.
I liked the game design and how smooth the camera and the transitions small-big were.
Thanks! :)
Great job on the game! It felt good to control! It is similar to mine :D
Yes! I already played yours!
First try, booyeah!
I had some expectations of relatively simple puzzles when I started playing this game, but when I found out that it was more than just separating the pieces, but that a mechanic like firing was tied to both blocks being together, that blew my mind.
This short experience truly played to the strengths of its mechanics. A good balance of platforming, action and even stealth-like scenes when the little block had to dodge enemies and be on its own while trying to infiltrate the enemy base. It was a short but sweet experience all round.
You're likely aware of the shortcomings of this project already. Physics and movement were a bit wonky, and I read someone saying that dying meant going back all the way to the start. I'm willing to say that some of that could have been tweaked further if the jam had been longer, but it'd still be something to keep into consideration in the future.
All in all though, I had a good time playing this game! It had the right amount of puzzles, and I could only imagine what other mechanics could be implemented on the premise that these two blocks having different puzzle-solving elements when apart and together! Way to go! 🌟
Wow, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, i already know the weaknesses of the game, but that's why I participated: Learning something new! :)
Next time i will do it bettery thanks a lot for your feedback!
Good game !
The idea fits the theme quite well :)
For some feedbacks, I think that it would have been nice to be able to jump higher with the small cube, as it feels a little short to reach most of the platforms.
Also, having some checkpoints would have been greats, as going all the way form the beginning when dying was quite frustrating.
Thanks for the feedback! I will do all these things better in my next game Jam!
The controls aren't perfect but that's a nice concept!
Also the music is good and I see that you made it so that's cool
Thanks!
Super fun game! Great work!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cool idea, interesting game!!
Glad you enjoyed it! :D
Really unique and interesting mechanic. beautifully presented. loved it. ~ Check out my entry when you get time :D
Thanks alot! I´ll check it out right now!
Grat game. Love the mechanics.
Thanks :)
Nice Game! Clean And Crisp
Thanks a lot! :)
Nice Game! Clean And Crisp
Nice game. Just needs some polish.
Yes, i know . Thanks for the feedback.
Oo the gameplay just felt so clean and crisp. The little bit of slide in the movement was just as functional as it was fun as I found I need some of the momentum sometimes to make the jumps! Tons of fun and a fun way to implement and make use of the theme! Great job!
Thanks a lot!
Really unique and interesting mechanic. The game is brought down a bit by slippy controls and single level structure. But there's a basis here for a great game that shines through.
Thanks!
Nice little game, i enjoyed playing, but it would be better to add some feedback from being hitted by enemy, also it would be nice to move hp counter to corner. All in all, it's a nice little game with pleasant sound design. Good job!
Thanks! I will make particles if you hit an enemy next time!
Enjoyed the music and vibes was very fun! There was a specific synth though that needed a low pass or something on it; it was too harsh through my computer speakers.
The gameplay was fun, but i wish the movement was a little less slippy. The camera worked really nicely, but i wish it was a little higher up (though thats just a creative choice I suppose)
All in all though, a pleasant little game. Well Done!
Thanks a lot for the feedback! I didn´t really think that much about the camera, but great suggestions.
