Really neat idea! I like how you approached the theme. It was honestly a bit too hard for me so I didn't get super far but I enjoyed the mechanic. Only thing I'd suggest is a cursor or highlight on the currently selected cube. There were a couple times where I got stuck and after trying t switch between the blocks I lost track of which was selected
Thanks for playing my game! When I update the game there'll be an indication for which cube will be controlled when pressing either J or K. :D
I very interesting and very hard game. Unfortunately, after many attempts, I won't be the person that will put a completed screenshot into the comments, but I hope someone can. My feedback would be about making things a little more forgiving, but I feel like that goes against the nature of what you have created.
Haha don't worry even I didn't finish my game sadly :')
This game is clunky and buggy. I couldn't pass the first level as it didn't register me being on the red platform for some reason.
I'm sorry that this happened but was the red cube on top of the red platform when this happened also what other bugs did you encounter? For the clunkiness, the controls are supposed to be like that since it's tagged as a difficult game.
I really like the style, concept and overall presentation... but the controls were a little hard to get used to. Even after telling my brain that left was diagonal up I still couldn't really do it.
I think shifting the controls to match the isometric view would have helped a bunch because it was hard for me to wrap my brain around it.
Oh and I had a bug where I lost control of both cubes a few times. Usually happened when I collided with another object while detaching. Resetting fixed it but still thought you should know.
Still an enjoyable game though! Liked it a lot.
Thank you for playing the game! I haven't encountered the bug you mentioned so I'll try to duplicate it. For the controls, I was also thinking about it during the start of the game jam to match the isometric view but for me, it kind of felt off in a way because of how the stages were designed. I wanted to add in the tutorial level indicators on which button would make the cube move in which direction.
I'll keep in mind the suggestion of matching the controls to the isometric view (as a toggleable setting) but for now, I'll leave it skewed since it's still the voting period.
Very clean and nice look. The addition of physics is ... interesting. Makes the game quite unplayable for me personally but I realize that's were the originality comes from. Walls would have been nice, though.
Thanks for the feedback :D. Red and Blue was initially inspired by Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and Jump King. Which made my thought process become "how do I make the game frustrating for the player while making it enjoyable?". So I made the controls a tad unplayable and wacky with the physics of the cube and the walls weren't added because it'd make the game extremely hard which was my intent. I was also thinking to myself if I should add walls during the development process but walls added meant that it would beat the purpose of the game's difficulty (which is why I added the difficulty tag and as a joke the relaxing tag). The dialogue in the game says otherwise but it was meant to humor me while making the game HAHAHA. I'm considering adding walls in another version of the game as "Easy Mode" if no one yet has to beat the game during the voting period.
It is an interesting game mechanic, I liked that. Of course, it was pretty hard to move the way I wanted but after taking quite a lot of tries I managed to complete the first stage and half of the second! The only thing I have to say is that one bug was quite annoying: if touch two wall at the same time cube stucks and you are not able to move at all, it happens not every time but quite often, and the only way out is to restart. But it is just a simple thing and despite that game was very much enjoyable and fun!
Thank You for the feedback! I also encountered the bug as well but due to time constraints and other work, I wasn't able to patch it on time. Once the voting period ends it'd be fixed with a patch for bugfixes and QoLs.
Unfortunately wasn't able to play long because a 'k' key is not working.
I'm sorry to hear that but were you attached with another cube while pressing the K key since it relies on the cubes being attached before being able to press J/K key to control the same cube/another cube?
