How does your game fit the theme?
It's like Snake, except you play as the Pellet. Additionally, the role of the snake as an enemy and friend are reversed, as not only is it a threat, but it is also your only defense against other enemies.

Every level added something that surprised me. Even the ants, which I thought were a clone of the dragonflies at first until I realized they forced me out of my strategy of staying along the walls. Really clever, one of my favorite games so far and definitely the best interpretation of Snake I've played in the jam!

Amazing game ! I usually would be inclined to rate you less for creativity because it's a really common idea, but the way you executed makes up for it totally! I find the fact that there are bugs and stuff really interesting that adds way more difficulty and fun than other similar games where it's only the snake following you. The game also has an ingame tutorial which I find quite helpful, introducing ideas as you progress and makes the game very easily comprehensible. Although the game is a bit hard not gonna lie, couldn't make it past level 11 with 3625 although the snake caught me a bit off guard haha. Anyways great game, for a common idea, the execution was insanely good which makes it stand out quite a lot.

Yeah, I didn't realize there was going to be so many snake games lmao, but hopefully I put enough of a twist on it to keep it from feeling too obvious. :)

Definitely going to add multiple lives after the jam ends. Thanks for your comment!

This game is really cool ! and made only in 2 days ?!

Deceptively simple, but there's a lot of really clever design going on here. The snake being both a threat and protection is a great source of tension and makes the game very interesting very quickly. Perfect implementation imho.

The core concept is clever and easy to grasp, but then the game throws you in for a loop with those bugs you have to use the snake to get rid of. It had me "dash-dancing" to avoid bullets and snakes alike multiple times. Great stuff!

Very nice take on Snake, the gameplay feels nice and it could actually be a nice game for mobile :)

Great moment , and so much memories the time i had my first phone with this being the only game on it, good game with a good twist. nice job.

How dare you trick me into playing a bullet hell.

Seriously though, this is a super fun and clever game with a ton of interesting and fast-paced decision making. It's really polished as well, amazing that this was done in 48 hours!

Super neat take on snake within the prompt! I love the push/pull of eating bugs gets them off the screen but making it harder to navigate around the snake(s)

great bullet hell and was more than just avoid the snake as you had to guide it like a Shepard loved all the depth of the different enemy types and trying to manage the snake and the food.

A pretty hectic game! But also a lot of fun.

This is incredibly fun! I think it would work amazingly as an on-screen-joystick controlled mobile game. The introduction of new gimmicks as the game went on felt well paced, and you had a real incentive to get the snakes to eat everything so you wouldn't have to deal with as much chaos. I love how different bugs force you to stop using certain playstyles, especially the hornet and ants. I couldn't make it to round 15 but I will definitely come back to this later. It may have been helpful to allow the player to start at a later wave with a points penalty, just so they could see more of the game, but I totally get it if that's not the style of game you were going for. It might have also been nice to add some occasional powerups like an extra life or temporary invincibility, maybe as a reward for having the snakes eat everything in a wave? Overall, great concept, extremely polished, and amazingly executed. Great job!

Thanks!

I 100% agree that extra lives or a 'quick start' mode would have been a good addition, definitely something I plan to add after the judging period ends. You do get extra points for clearing an entire wave before the timer expires, but power ups or extra lives sounds even better. Thanks for the ideas!

Very interesting take on the classic snake game. Well done.

The game is great. I don't know how you could make it better. BWT the idea is great.

Really fun concept, I liked how diverse the enemies were. Tricking the snakes into eating other enemies was pretty satisfying

Nice game! The inverse snake concept is very smart. Congrats!
