good take to the theme! this could easily many levels! as said from the previous comments i think the timing is too fast and sometimes its hard to catch the timing! would be better if there is some visual effects like zooming in and out for the photo taking!
Thanks! The visual effect is a cool idea!
Great cute game! I love this one, especially the cute sounds, though i found it sometimes hard to get to the pictures, maybe like +1 or so seconds would be already enough, but overall great game!
Thanks! Yeah I probably should’ve made the game a touch easier haha, even I haven’t gotten a perfect score and I’ve played it A LOT
really nice game, that end screen with all photos is really cool. I like it! gj :)
Thank you!
Pretty fun game, I like the photography mechanic and the fact that those are legit snapshots with player position and everything (really nice touch). My high score was 740.
My only feedback is that sometimes it was a little hard to drop down from platforms without going the long way round.
As far as presentation goes, the game looks adorable and is super clear, I always knew where I had to run to next.
Overall, great work.
Thank you! Yeah I’m not happy with the platform drop mechanic, might have to take a look at how other games implement it since I kinda just made it up on the fly. One more thing for the to do list!
Any game with well-dressed penguins is an instant classic
Thanks! I agree :P
Cool game! I could see how this could be expanded with levels that make it harder to get to the goal in the given time or maybe collectables that give more points or requiring point thresholds to complete levels. Very creative idea!
Thank you! A point threshold sounds interesting, might try that idea out!
Nice little game! The music is great but the penguin art... is 10/10. And I'm not just saying that because I love penguins, it's so cute and funny with those sunglasses. Great job!
Thank you! I almost wanted to give him a hat as well :)
So simple yet so effective! Seeing the pictures at the end made me laugh!
Thank you!
Really nice! Funny background story, and loved seeing the pictures at the end. Great work!
Thanks! I wanted to have a whole cutscene sequence but decided to work on the game first, which turned out to be a good idea because there was a LOT of debugging haha
This just became my favourite game in the jam. Everything is so simple and so good at it. I really liked every detail about it. So I couldn't find anything to nitpick. Some people have said 3 seconds is stressful but come on, this is the part of the game and core mechanic of the fun. I really appreciated you for not just making the same photo animation for crowd, I mean if it's spawned at right, someone at the right raises his camera. Really small detail but I just love details.
No lies I thought it's just a basic endless one-shot game with score system, but whenever exhibit is closed and I saw those cute photos of my penguin. Oh boy these pictures are amazing.
I loved how you switched roles in Pokemon Swap (like you mentioned in main page). It definitely fits the theme and it's amazingly cute.
Only thing that this game needs a little bit motion to penguin. It can be something like jumping forward (like superman flying position but with two hands), and when falling to ground you can give player a penalty like 1 seconds to get up. Just like how penguins can't get up so easily. It's just an idea but in my opinion it can make photos even funnier.
Everything is perfect at this game, super polished and ready to go. I couldn't find any glitches or game breaking things. I hope you can get your deserved ranking. Best of luck, cheers ^^

Wow, thank you for your detailed review! I agree fully with your suggestion, the game would be much more engaging if there were more poses for the penguin. I was thinking I could even have one where he has his head stuck in the ground after dropping from a tall height.
Thank you again for the kind words, I love your game as well if you couldn't already tell from the comment I left on it :P
Very fun concept, art, and gameplay! Only thing it needs is poses the penguin can do for the photos
Thank you! I agree, definitely should've added some poses haha
I really love the concept and the little penguins ^^. It reminds me of Pokemon snap but inverted (which is really fun). One of the best and cute game that I played so far !! I had a lots of fun. Great job !
Thank you! That was exactly what I was going for :D
'you play as a dripped out penguin'
yeah now I have to play it
...regardless, this is a really cute game!
I really like the art and sounds, it makes the game feel really cute!
I do feel like it'd be nice to have some feedback when a picture gets snapped, so the player knows they got in frame. Maybe a little score number, maybe the penguin striking a fabulous pose, maybe both, maybe something else entirely!
I do very much like that your score is based on how much you are in frame. It allows you to get more points for playing well, rather than just being all-or-nothing situation!
I got a score of 530!
Thank you for the detailed review! I had the idea for the polaroid to slide across the screen for a brief moment after each picture was taken so the player can have immediate feedback. It would've been really easy to add but unfortunately, I had the idea 5 minutes after the submission deadline :(
Really lovely game, great artstyle, UI, sound, everything!! It reminds me a lot of the TikTok trend where people tried to fit into a box in the screen which makes it even funnier.
Unfortunately my highest score only got to 730 but I'm happy with that. If I had to critique something it would be that sometimes feels impossible to get from one point to another, but in such short amount of time the game is pretty well balanced. But even then, who cares if I had so much fun!
Congratulations for an amazing work ^^
Thank you! That was actually the inspiration for the game so I'm glad someone got the reference haha
Yeah I never actually got a perfect score myself either during testing so that was probably a sign that I should've made the game slightly easier, but oh well
Glad you enjoyed the game!
So cute and addicting!! Well done, I really enjoyed this one <3
Thank you for the kind words!
Really nicely done!, the rating mechanic seems pretty spot on! maybe you could add an endless mode in the future! the character controller handled well but it was a bit hard to find the correct parts of ledges to jump on. overall a solid entry!
Thank you! I might work on this concept more if people like it so maybe there will be an endless mode there, stay tuned!
Really goofy idea!
Thank you!
Hilarious concept. Love how the picture are shown all together at the end so it looks extra obnoxious from the penguin :D This has some solid potential for expansion with poses and npcs like you menioned. Great work!
Thanks! I'm optimistic about the concept of the game and I'll definitely expand on it if I have the time
Agree this was very well made! Not only that it was very cute!
Thank you! I had a great artist :)
Extremely cute, was immediately clear how it worked, and fun to play. The slide-in of all the photos at the end was a particular highlight, although not sure why at least one tourist was just trying to get a shot of a beach ball with no penguins whatsoever :D
Thanks! I originally wanted to make a game where the tourists were trying to take pictures of other penguins and you had to shove them out of the way, but I decided that I wouldn't be able to complete that in 48 hours. That's why the photo placements don't make much sense if you think about it but it is what it is :P
