Really cool idea, I love how each phase meshes so well with another and how they are all useful and have their challenges. Good Stuff!

I like the interpretation on roles reversed here, you really got a lot out of that theme with your game :)

art style was awesome, great work!

I enjoyed this, though I found myself never using the sword. I always switched to gun when I had the chance.

The gameplay loop is actually really enjoyable, it is really unfortunate that some of the progress has been lost due to corruption. I ee a lot of potentials in this concept with more cards and different modes of combat. Good work over all!

Wow, a nice theme interpretation. Even some bugs didn't spoil the fun for me :D

Will look forward for updates and more levels. Well done!

Very interesting comments, I love the gameplay it's very fun, but I found it unforgiving that when I'm trying to heal, they can hit me with their swords through the wall (that's how I died), and that the enemies suddenly spawn out of nowhere, I sometimes didn't see the enemies at the bottom corner of the map because of the wall too and I got shot.

Overall great game, very polished and well done, nice submission and good luck!

During the shooting phase I feel like they all straight up disappeared but it's a really great concept and I can definitely see this going somewhere!

Took me a while to figure it out, but once I did, I had a fun time. The biggest issue here is the balancing of the roles themselves and how hard it seems to be:

  • Sword - the most fun, because it feels the most like a game. Avoiding bullets and slicing enemies is the highlight of the game.
  • Gun - nothing happens, you go to the corner, shoot one or two enemies, then you go to the center to continue.
  • Healing - that's when you die if you switch too late, and if you switch roles earlier, you won't have the health to survive the next bullet hell or you'll be swarmed with enemies all shooting at you.

Have no idea how the upgrade mechanic works. The description talks about it and there are screenshots with it, but it never appeared and I have no idea how to use it. I wish I could play the game with it, but I couldn't. Despite all of that, it's an interesting idea for a mechanic. Honestly, I think switching roles on a timer with WarioWare-style faster pacing could work better for this kind of game, give it some energy.

Thanks for the great review, i actually had the roles much more balanced, the enemies would actually hide, there were upgrades and sound effects on everything, but i lost the last 5 hours of progress that i made on the game so this is a very unfinished version, thanks for all the feedback i think if i ever turn this into a proper game this will be really useful to look back at.

Great concept and still pretty polished for losing 5 hours of work! The push and pull between the three table states is inspired

Really original take on this year's theme! shame the game got a bit stale after a while for me. (idk, maybe I'm just bad at it) The art style manages to look nice while still being very basic aswell. The upgrade buttons in the screenshot didn't show up for me for some reason? hope you're able to fix that soon. Overall, cool game!

Developer

Thank you so much. I actually lost the last 5 hours of work i put into the game..... so all the sound effects, the ending, the upgrade system and polish unfortunately never made it into the build on itch.io.

damn, that sucks. Last year, my game stopped working out of the blue and I wasn't able to get it fixed in time, so I know how it feels. Hope u have better luck next year!

The game idea is really cool and it perfectly fits the theme! The only thing its missing is sound effects but I suppose you didnt had enough time. Well done!!

Developer

Thank you so much. I actually lost the last 5 hours of work i put into the game. so all the sound effects are gone :(

Really like this idea! Hope you turn it into a bigger game soon.

The game is really fun to play! I love how it can very easily turn from you destroying the enemies to the enemies destroying you and vice-versa after turning the tables.

Bit rough around the edges, but this simple idea is surprisingly deep. Cool. It's quite fun to juggle the different states!

Fun game! Like the idea! UI is cool. Very exciting and thrill. When I switch to healing, a mount of enemies come by, and I have to run around the map, which is fun.

Clever and fun! what a shame you lost your last build though. Also great name haha!
Check out our little game as well 😀
