How does your game fit the theme?
In our game, you are a wolfmonster that becomes a baby on a full moon. You are hunting the villagers, but over the course of the game, the roles reverse and you become the hunted. Mechanics wise, it is a "reversed roguelike", you chose downgrades instead of upgrades.

Really uncommon idea and nice art.
Good job!

Honestly really like the graphics! Such a unique and fun style!
Getting the debuffs was pretty funny! By the end, I could barely do anything, and I had to run back to the lair! Wonderful role reversal!

First time playing as a wolf. Amazing idea!!

Fun game, good time. Concept is silly and I loved it. Risk vs reward is great

Super creative idea! I've always had a game idea in the back of my mind that a reversed metroidvania (where you have to choose which powers to give up) would be really interesting, and your game kind of does that! Also the wolfmonster art is hilarious :P

The reverse roguelike is an interesting concept! I liked that you had to be careful about which downgrades to choose and when to go for kills vs. hide and ambush people. I ended up rushing the hardest parts of the map first to leave a bunch of corpses before I became a baby.

I found that the NPCs got stuck on the trees, especially the ones at the edges of the map and the trees above the lair. It let me corner them easily and hide from them when I became less scary.

Developer

Thanks :)

We implemented it so that villagers just run away from the Werewolf when it's scary. That resulted in them "hiding" in the trees which we found very funnny and fitting so we kept it in.

Really liked the game, cool concept and the sound effects really makes you feel the impact. After a few runs you really get the hang what each downgrad leads too. Though I think a bit more time before all wizards attack woud have been good as taking the second "become less scary" is made meaningless by that.
But as i said, played multiple rounds, so it got me Hooked for one haha

Developer

Thanks for playing and cool to hear you got hooked to play multiple rounds!

Love the gameplay concept of you getting weaker as the game goes on, that's a pretty clever reversal of gameplay!

(+1)

Cool game. I loved the artstyle.

Submitted(+1)

It's a fun concept and the art lends itself well to a more charming type of monster game.
The only issue is that killing things isn't all that fun and losing powers is a bummer.
Maybe I'm not a fan of score attack games, hard to say.
I do wanna see more games from you coming forward, I think you'll make a total banger one day!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. I think we failed a little at communicating what the gameplay is really about, because we wanted the player to discover it. It's not really about killing the villagers, but about surviving for as long as possible and then escaping. Destroying things early when you are strong makes it easier to survive once you get weaker. It's a mixture between a "kiting" game and almost a kind of speedrun. But this sense of urgency only becomes apparent if you play multiple times and really try to go for a high score.

Its a good game. Interesting game all around, and a great title. Keep it up! :)

I like the artstyle and what a fun concept! Werewolf Mayor to were baby, lets go!

Submitted(+1)

I thought it was fun, it raises the question:

werebaby?
herebaby (only in full moon)

Developer

Thanks :)

Haha the pun was not intended to be "where baby?" but that's also a fun twist of words.
We named it Werebaby because it's the reversal of a werewolf: it's a wolf but only at full moon it turns into a baby.

Submitted(+1)

haha i know, was just having fun with the pun :P, i did become werebaby and to answer werebaby? in lair, safe:)

Developer(+1)

hahaha good job on getting to safety then! The villagers must have been asking "werebaby?" too; certainly not in the very obvious and not at all hidden monster lair.

Submitted(+1)

I like the art style and werewolf theme too!
I had lags when I played as a baby, but mostly I have fun.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. We also added a downloadable Windows version, since some players experience lag in the browser version. (Probably due to the Godot Web export not being the best in terms of performance.)

Submitted(+1)

Cool game! You used the them twice so congrats for that. Would have loved to see more wolf animations :D

Good work :)

I really enjoyed the art - it gave me "Don't Starve" vibes!  Maybe I misunderstood something, but I wish that you could get points for destroying the buildings and killing the villagers.  It felt like the only way you gained points was on a timer.

Funny concept, and I did enjoy the experience overall!  Great work!  :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Our idea was that killing the villagers and destroying the villagers helps you with surviving longer, because there will be fewer enemies as you get weaker. I think this is sometimes we should've communicated better: The goal is to survive for as long as possible and then escape. That's were I think the fun can be found, optimizing your early game strength to setup the later phase were you are weaker. Maybe we should've sacrificed some "flavor" and instead should've explained the game mechanics more directly.

Very good looking game! Seems like I couldn't get it running on firefox but had better luck with chrome. Didn't really understand the villagers were shooting me though, they did right? ^^

Developer(+1)

Thanks :) On my Firefox it was running fine so far. Just laggy in the late-game sadly.

Yes, villagers attack you even if they're scared and run away.

You have a healthbar at the top and your goal is to survive for as long as possible.
To regain health you can eat the defeated villagers.

Really cool game. Love the art style !

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I agree, our artist did an amazing job :)

Submitted(+2)

I like the drop mechanics of our abilities. It really fits with the theme. Also game is really looking good!

Developer

Thank you! It was one of our priorities to fit the theme. And I agree our artist did a great job :)

Submitted(+2)

Its actually a good and fun concept but, maybe, a bit of action is missing. Btw still good work, dude!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Always trying to create something unique.

It has not much depth yet for sure. One of our play testers (friends) reached a score of 400. You might find it a challenge to try and beat that :)
