Very interesting game, It took me couple of tries to understand how am I getting points. Once I got this it is super fun to play! also really like the face of my character

I tried so much to avoid letting the AI to make points but no matter I did, it always scores! Guess I'm just a rotten pear in the basket... As a musician, I dug on the cozy soundtrack!
You actually want the AI to make matches! That way you can make bigger combos and get a higher score!

Oof! No AI will get my help!!! It was fun indeed xD
The concept is very unique and the art is adorable. Everything looks good in the game, but unfortunately the core gameplay loop can get old quick. Powerups that can fall alongside other fruits among other things could help spice things up? I'd also consider adding sound effects, as the lack of audio (aside from the music and announcer) felt off.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah would be nice to add some different types of blocks as the game goes on (frozen fruit, multicolored fruit, etc). We also do have some sound effects for the fruit matches, but maybe you were just referring to the knives/bombs?
When there is good and bad news I always feel it pertinent to begin with the latter. The game was very unintuitive - even after reading the how to play section of the page and viewing the in game menu. Once I did figure out how to play the game progressed very similarly to any other puzzle match game, even with the addition of playing against an AI. Now the positives: excellent presentation, lovely art style that was warm and inviting, sound design was very thematic and on point, and if it wasn't for the aforementioned negatives I would have loved to play more of this game. I believe it is obvious that the overwhelming time constraint is what has hindered this project, and with further development and refinement this game could become something great. Shame that it wasn't there by submission, but the creator's should still be proud of what they have accomplished and I hope they lean into what they did well in any future projects.
Thanks for the feedback!
At its core, the game is a match-3 game where you are a tile that's trying to survive, but at the same time you're trying to get combos to increase your score. If you've got suggestions on how to phrase the instructions better let us know!
I see the game more as playing with the AI, where you are trying to help the Ai (and yourself) get a higher score! :)
Really nice game! I think the take on the match 3 genre is extremely creative and the overall presentation is very good. The game could benefit from having a few more mechanics and a shorter time period for the AI to make it's move, but overall, well done!
Thanks for the feedback!
The time period actually does get faster as the game goes on! But yeah could be nice to add in some more tile types as the game progresses to add more of a challenge :)
This game is extremely creative! It is such a good twist on the match 3 genre and could definitely be very successful as a mobile game if further developed!
I especially loved how the ability to make multiple turns allows you to carry fruit across long distances to make massive combos. It might be a good idea to add a separate turn based gamemode to allow for even more score maximizing potential, maybe as a puzzle mode or something of the like.
Some minor suggestions I have would be to maybe grant bonus points for matching fruits of the same type as you (if thats not already a thing) just to add to the risk, and probably the ability to move a couple of tiles between each consecutive match because I ended up losing to an insane combo which made a knife come out of nowhere and kill me. Still, in its current state it is a very enjoyable and unique experience! Great job!
Thanks for the feedback!
ooh that's a good idea I didn't think about, could be an interesting addition!
that's actually something we played around with a bit, but felt like it interrupted the game flow a bit too much :/
Great game, although the framerate is low.
That was a very creative game, congrats! I really enjoyed the art and everything felt super polished. I had a tiny bit of trouble getting used to moving the fruits to where I wanted but once I got the hang of it everything clicked! Great job!
Thanks for the comment! Were you using keyboard or mouse? I think the mouse controls aren't the greatest and could use some work.. the keyboard controls are much better imo
At first I was a bit confused on what to do and what's special about the game, but once I understood that you have to avoid the matches instead of creating them, I started really liking this concept. It is very creative and fits the theme very well. It is qutie simple to play, it may get little boring after a while, but you still need to always be on your toes in case you are in a bad area. The art and audio are very cute, and the polish level is very high, especially considering that this game was only made in 2 days. A very ingenious submission to the jam
Thanks for the feedback!
Really fun! the slowdown is a bit much sometimes though, especially when you die.
Definitely should publish this as a mobile game! It's adorable and I can see it going far :P Only thing is it took me a second to understand you want *other* fruits to match.
One of the most original and best executed ideas I've seen so far! The polish is cranked up to the max and the game feels very satisfying to play, good job!
Wonderful presentation, took me a while to really understand what was going on with the matches and as soon as I thought "how would you ever lose" I got got!
haha yep that's what always happens to me too :)
Share your high scores! Mine is 13746
The game's graphics are really cute, and it's incredible to see how polished it is! I really like the idea overall and how you implemented the mechanic of swapping with player movement to create an interesting puzzle.
Thanks!
Genius idea and great presentation :)
Thanks!
