It's a very good take on the role reversed. Clear and Nice concept. If there's more variations or random events would be great. You can make snake longer after time passed and give player some ways to shorter the snake. Or player buff like a random boosting bubble poping up that make player faster or dash or time stop. Also if the game can add WASD to control it will be better.
Good work on the game jam ^_^

Creative idea, I like it! Got a score of 3500

I like how the music sped up with the worm, really added to it! I kinda like the abstract simple aesthetic too - fun vibe. I kinda just ended up going in a circle, but nice work overall!

Music was some of the best fitting and integrated into the game that I've seen so far in the jam! There's a lot of stuff you can do with this concept, this one keeps it simple and executes it well, feels very smooth to play. Good work :)

I really loved the music in this game, I was really boppin' to it-- especially as it sped up. Neat idea, I hope you continue to flesh this out further post-jam and make some obstacles so you can continue to juke the snake!

A little thing that I wanted to mention is that, sometimes, the snake just spawns right next to the player at the start and the level ends with score 1. Other than that tiny bug, it is a pretty solid game ;)

The music speeding up as the snake sped up is a nice touch. Pretty simple game but good job.

Fun idea and love the music escalating. Would be great if the snake got longer and started to wrap around you etc, as other reviewers pointed out rn it's pretty easy.

I got 1886. Great game

The music tho XD I kept playing just to see how high the music would go

great idea, and art, though the gameplay was kind of repetitive and easy, as you just had to go in circles.

Really enjoyed the gameplay! The music was also well timed and it was really funny to play. Well done.

I liked the style of this game, the background got the feel of a checkered paper, but I agree that the game lacks something to make the challenge interesting. It’s also a bit odd that the player character can be almost fully outside the screen.

Here are some possible solutions:

  • Make the game world warp around and the X and Y axis, that might help some with having the snake stay in the center and the player running in circles around it.
  • Make the snake for short intervals not chase the player but just continue straight (or similar) to break up that circulating pattern
  • Introduce static or dynamic obstacles in the map that again stop the player from running around the perimeter of the screen.

I think the idea works as a simple arcade game, but currently it's a little too easy.

Us apple people need to stick together

Not too bad for a beginner I suppose? Definitely feels more like a throwaway idea rather than a game.

well done game for a beginner

Nice and simple game!

:D

In-game tutorial would make good addition for the game. Also, doesn't really feel deep enough to play more than 1 minute. Good try though.

Nice game, but it doesn't really feel like you're playing a snake game due to the snake not growing bigger and not having to walk in a grid. I think it would be cooler if the snake would also have more interesting movement patterns other than just immediately going to the player.
