Nothing to say! the game is just really great! nightmar fuel with the coin chasing you and this background sound haha, but the game is great!

Cool! Temple run but coins are bad.

Submitted(+1)

Nice twist, at first, I was tempted to collect the gold just to lose the game. The music is good too. Though the game frame rate is low for some reason. Anyway, good job!

I never thought I have to avoid the coins too. Good idea. However the game is quite simple but you did great for a 48h game.

I know this is probably not your fault, but this game is very frustrating to play.

When you first started the game, you were flashbanged every 5 seconds, making it impossible to avoid the coins or to play at all. Not to mention the poor performance that came with Unreal games adding to the frustration.

Overall, a game with a pretty interesting idea, but the game itself is just very annoying.

I like the music though, really adds to the atmosphere of the game.

Krosaa, good job man. Game is nicely polished and having the reverse runner where the collectables chase you is a sick concept.

Interesting, reminds me of Temple Run

You may not believe it, but I've never played an Endless Runner game before this one.

The game is quite good. It is simple as you can expect from the genre it is from, but it does everything that it should rather correct, as the mechanics are fluid, the controls are responsive and crisp and the game was actually running fine for me, although that might be due to my PC having all Unreal related stuff installed.

Graphics wise it looks nice, the menu reminded me of Serious Sam a little for some reason and I generally like the overall little bit old school aesthetic. It is great to see another fellow Unreal representant in the jam, as we definetely are in a minority.

I'm a little bit on the fence about how the theme was implemented into the game. I am 100% fine with the idea that the coins are chasing the players, it is quite good way of introducing the reversed roles into the game, but I feel like it should be balanced out with something. What I mean is that in games of this genre the coins are the positive factors while we also have hazzards, obstacles etc., so the premise is simple, collect coins, avoid obstacles. Here in Treasure Temptation both obstacles and coins are negative aspects as they hurt the player, while there is no positive factors apart from the life regen and highscore. Maybe the roles should be reversed for another mechanic, not only the coins so that maybe obstacles, or at least some of them would help out the player or maybe they would offer some kind of risk/reward situation, so that when player plays good the obstacle can give a bonus but it is associated with a risk of losing 2 lifes or something like that. Maybe the obstacles could both harm the player when ran into but also shield the player from coins that are comming from a different lanes. Just some food for thought, as probably my ideas aren't really the sharpest, as I just wanted to illustrate my point.

Apart from that nitpick, the game is enjoyable and I tried to chase some highscores but was unable to go above 700m, because I don't have much experience with games like that and post jam my dexterity is not on the best level as I'm still a bit tired, so excuse me for that :D

One more thing of note, maybe the hearts should just add 1 life, not only heal the lost ones so it would be a little bit easier. Probably for an experienced player the game wasn't that hard, but for me it was to some extent, and having extra life instead of heal would help.

Keep it up, I'm always glad to play Unreal games during the jams, thanks for submitting :)

Developer

Thank you so much for the elaborate feedback! I agree with all points you mentioned, especially that something negative should have been mirrored as well. That would have added some more depth and the game turned out to be pretty hard anyway so a little help definetly would have been a good thing. As this was my first finished game I kind of mismanaged my time, I got the main game loop going and then worked on all the menus, restart buttons, highscore system, etc. and had to kind of rush most obstacles except for the coins on the last day - learnt my lesson here for next time, I ended up not having playtested the final state of the game enough to notice balance issues.
I am really grateful that you went into detail and explained what you liked and disliked about the game, that really helps a lot, I might release an updated version of the game once the reating period is over with the feedback I received in mind :)

Glad I could help and don't worry, everybody has problems with time during jams :D Last year I overscoped the game way too much and ended up with a half-finished mess :P

It looks really nice and I enjoy the idea :) I also liked that it has a main menu, quit game button etc. looks like a finished product. Though the reactions were slow and the randomization made it impossible to get further at times.

game looks decent but runs really poorly on my machine (which is pretty powerful), some optimization is definitely needed. maybe having “S” as your roll instead of “q” would’ve made a bit more sense but thats just me. decent idea and is fun but needs some polishing.

the designs are great and the game is cool.

The game is quite challenging and you have to think twice before you get a good score ;)

Good execution :D

Fun and nice to play, visuals were nice and the game was relatively challenging. A few collision issues here and there (getting caught on planks, and taking damage on top of the elevated platforms), but other then that ran perfectly fine. Sometimes I'd forget what game I was playing and start collecting the coins lol, my best high score was 1674.

Honestly this was a very fun playthrough indeed!
while it was a bit too challenging for me that's probably because I suck but I still enjoyed it,

the Idea is quite smart and very fun in concept, glad to see it in execution, I like the fact that the game is 3D for they are quite rare and challenging to make in such a short timeframe so kudos on that too!

while the gamplay loop plays well and is quite fun, I found it a bit repetitive after a while but that the nature of all games in this genre after all, so no problem there,

visually, I like the models and the composition, the artstyle is pleasing and the choice of the color palette is nice too, I like the mood of the whole temple or pyramid environment, quite well crafted,

other than that I would have liked if the game had a bit more polish, effects and feedback, to really make the game pop,
overall a solid entry, great work!

Cool concept! An endless runner where you have to avoid the shiny, yet deadly coins (couldn't stop myself from making that reference lol). A bit laggy but still fun. I got a highscore of 1196 points. Nice entry overall.

Nice idea and it was quite difficult and challenging but it was fun, Even my pc thinks it was challenging to run this game lol jk. Amazing game!

(+1)

I enjoyed it very much so! It reminds me of tomb raider but with RTX. Well Done!

The game is fun and with good graphics. Sometimes a bit unresponsive and there were some parts impossible to pass  when some lava pools joined for example. But the game was fun and it was like a temple run but without taking coinds. really liked the idea.
