The nice is game but the platforming is pretty hard !
For those who want to go further, use arrows + space for the wall jumps and wasd for the shoting parts !
I might have been missing an extra control, but I couldn't get the wall jumping working in the second area :(
some other people couldnt get it handled sorry to hear that, its not a second area thing i believe its just a weird input in general so its understandable you had issues. either way i hoped you enjoyed!
I found it very difficult, as another person said, I think the wall jumping is much easier with 2 hands on arrow keys and spacebar instead of WASD. Regardless, the art is fun, music/sound effects are very good especially the sound when you flip up from the top of a wall onto the platform. I also really loved the intro scene- we had something similar in our game with a "cutscene" at the beginning so it's nice to see someone else who did as well. Great work!
Very mechanically complex platforming, the wall jump is indeed a bit too difficult. However, other parts still feel quite smooth and the art is amazing, especially the intro sequence. Great job!
Nice style and story! :) The controls feel alright, except the wall jump. I really struggled with that a couple of minutes to get out of the cave. I eventually gave up at the shotgun jump part of the tutorial, because it was too painful for my wrist to try to wall jump all the time.
sorry to hear about the difficulty def should have tuned that more, if it helps almost all of the platforming can be done without the shotgun! doesnt make it much easier tho lol. glad you liked the story!
Liked the concept. The presentation is great. The controls could maybe do with a bit of work, but good job overall.
Thanks for the feedback!
Cool sound effects and visuals! Interesting idea and mechanics! It was somewhat difficult to parkour, but the bird got what it deserved!
Firstly, the presentation is immaculate for a game made in 48 hours -- it looks and feels like a polished Edmund McMillen game or something. I also think the shotgun as kickback is a great mechanic, though it took me a bit to figure out that that's what the tutorial sign was telling me. This feels like it fits the 2017 jam's "Dual Purpose Mechanic" theme.
But walljumping is kinda icky -- weirdly I can do it when I use my right hand on arrow keys and left hand on space, but when I try to use WASD and space in both my left hand (so that I can use the mouse simultaneously) I just slip and fall. Instead I try to use my shotgun to boost and help me up the wall, but it's a bit frustrating.
thanks so much for the feedback! while most of the art was done by us the tileset was not and thankfully it fit really well, small issue with it was of course the collision based on how it was made so it was hard to implement leading to some movement issues like that one. I'm glad you enjoyed and we def got some inspiration from the 2017 jam as well lol we thought the game needed a little more.
LOVE it, couple of weird hitboxes, and I might just be bad but the platforming was a bit hard to execute sometimes, but oh my god moving around is just fun. Shotgun as double jump is my new favorite platforming mechanic
glad you loved it, some issues with the tileset def caused some hitbox issues and a lot of the platforming segments were not fully thought out due to time constraints. Overall I'm glad you enjoyed it even with the flaws :)
Loved the cutscenes! And the game's visuals are great. The platforming was a bit difficult sometimes but I managed to get to the ending (worth it hehe). The boss fight worked pretty well IMO and was at the right difficulty. Great job!
The SFX was top notch as well, I bet y'all had a blast making it hehe
Thanks mate :D I'm happy you enjoyed it!
all the sound effects were made with my mouth lmao
The art was amazing, player movement was fun to control, I enjoyed the sound effects and platforming. The technique to dodge the boss's sweeping attack was fun to use.
Gracias amigo!
Really well done! From the music, to the characters, to the cutscenes: everything was awesome. The character had a lot of control and movements felt snappy yet forgiving. Love the ending cutscene :)
Thanks so much!!
Finished it twice already to show friends :)
The starting of the game is good and funny.platforming was a really tough to control, and i'm not sure if the rest of the world is random or not, because i couldn't find the end. other than that i loved the visuals.
The world is not randomly generated, there are only 5 rooms and a boss at the end. Thanks for the feedback!!
I'm going to finish this later because the game crashed on me (not your fault, my internet), but it was absolutely fucking bodacious, top-tier Game Jam shit.
Thanks mate :D
Love the style and the platforming mechanics! the best thing is the voice acting!
Thanks, the screeches are peak lol
The platforming was a little finicky, but the art and story were really cool!
Yeah I didn't add enough animations to the movement to make it easier to control, but I'm happy you enjoyed the story :D
platforming is a bit difficult, but the animations a really great !
Thanks! Happy you enjoyed the story!
I like the art! The platforming was kinda tricky at first, but it was cool to learn
Thanks mate!
The worms are back in action!
for real
Such a big game for 48 hours! i like the art and the idea!
Thanks, it was very fun to make! didja make it to the boss at the end? most of the time got sunk into that
oh, it was too long so i just stopped after killing about 4 birds.. I will come back to this and demolish that dude
awesome! there is only 5 rooms before the boss so you were almost there!
