Interesting idea and great visuals, i think some bgm and sfx could really help bring the story to life!
Pretty good concept.
A good mix of control over what happens, and speculation.
Could definitely benefic from some sound and music though.
Unless, would that detract from the ambiguity?
It would certainly be a challenge to implement dynamic music in a fluid plot.
Cool idea! I do wish that the main storyline had a conclusion, or maybe an underlying reason for why it starts over at the beginning of the day; maybe the narrator doesn't want the story to end, so the character is trapped in an endless loop? But what's there is good! The art style and UI were gorgeous - well done on making this in two days!
This game was fun, I loved how it ended at the beginning. However, I wish that there were more paths and I am excited for you to be able to work on this more. I agree with Switecom that this game feels more like a visual novel instead of a game where I am literally playing as the narrator. Also one small note that I have is that the walking speed should be higher to match the speed at which the walking animation plays.
Nice visuals with smooth animations, shame you couldn't finish some of the routes. I also like the loop-like starting over of the game when beginning anew. I do feel a bit however, that maybe the 'roles reversed' theme isn't fully achieved as the game resembles more a visual novel at it's current state.
Really interesting idea! Made me feel good inside getting them to gold!
i really liked this! the visuals are very charming and remind me a bit of mutazione. i liked how the game is set up to loop over and over, so as you replay and try different routes it shows you that even a single scene with just one (or two) characters can be interpreted in so many different ways. each time i got to a route that wasn't finished it was a genuine bummer, but in a good way of "aw man i wish i could discover more of this."
great entry :D
Thank you very much! Of course, we think it's high praise, coming from you. And We're surprised that it took this long for someone to mention Mutazione because let's be honest, the art style probably reminded you quite a bit of it. But yeah we both aren't artist and don't really draw at all, so we had to find a simple art style that we can attempt to replicate. But we're really glad to see that a lot of people seem to like it.
And yeah, it's a real bummer for us too. But it takes a long time for us to draw the assets (hey, what do you know, drawing ain't easy!). And by early day 2, we knew that we weren't gonna be able to finish our story outline. But instead of rewriting to reduce the scale, we decided to just go as far as we could.
Regardless, glad you liked it and thanks for playing!
very cool concept! I love the subtle variations you can get between days. It's got a "you put your own story together in your head" vibe to it which I like :))
i like the visual direction of the game, all the details are kept vague which matches up with the gameplay quite well. Good job!
Nice game! The idea is original and it's well implemented. Congratulations!
I like the idea! But it's somewhat wasted since the narrator mostly only ever narrates the MC's feelings, thoughts and actions, so as it stands it's not all that different from a normal VN where you play them. Options should have been "The MC's phone starts ringing"/"[Something else happens]" instead of "MC picks up the call"/"MC doesn't pick up the call" (in my opinion, of course).
Other than that, the visual style is distinct (good use of colors) and the writing is very solid. I like how we don't only trace the character's actions from now on, but also what lead them to their initial situation.
Thinking about this, you could make a pretty cool and funny 'Reverse Stanley Parable' with this. The main character has a degree of free will and does what they want, and you are the narrator trying to narrate and make sense of it all even when they throw you curve balls and do something else than what you say in your narration.
Cool game! 😄
It is definitely a perspective we don’t see very often, asking the player to interpret the scene! I liked the story (the paths I could explore anyway)!
Well done! 🙂
Amaaazing! Love this kind of experiments, by adding more content could be a nice game! Congrats!
