Good idea! I love this art and presentation. Gameplay simple and short...maybe can be improve.

Really clever take on the theme. Also, the whole visual part is so good.

Maybe some indicator above what tile you are, other than when you can select the building would be helpful, because it was sometimes tricky to get above the small buildings.

But overall good balanced game and by fighting against other people and not some predefined AI is really good change from other games.

Such a good concept! This is a very creative take on the theme, and it looks amazing. The lava and water really stand out, making it quick and easy for us to read the situation. The audio cues are so funny and make it easy to keep track on what's happening. Great game, I had a lot of fun playing. Congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much, we had a lot of fun with the audio! Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing :)

I have mad respect for any team that decides to record some voice acting. Especially if it's silly like this. The presentation was great right off the bat, especially with those old newspaper covers.

As for the gameplay, I think you're really missing a mini-map. I was flying around at first, not even noticing the wave coming from the right of the screen. Since the map is larger that the field of view, you need some indication where the threats are coming from. Also the movement of the ship needs to be really really precise to enable these pick-up/put-down mechanics, and it's kinda floaty right now.

Oh, oh, and you could maybe even add some sort of dash with a cooldown, to get from one side of the map to the other quicker.

Oh this is an amazingly clever take on the theme, and it works so well!!! The presentation is perfectly done and the constant back and forth between the water and lava makes for some very compelling problem solving! Only thing was that the movement felt a bit finicky, but that might just be cause of the browser problems you mentioned, so it's really no big deal, especially as the rest is so well done! Great job! :D

I really like the concept of the game!  The gameplay is also very good, my only complaint would be that the movement feels a little slippery, aside from that, awesome job!

Developer

Thank you, and thanks for playing! Yeah we wanted to tighten the controls up a bit but unfortunately ran out of time. :(

Fantastic art style! Gave me "Destroy all humans" flash backs in the best kind of ways. A very fun and inventive game, Great Work!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! Thanks for playing :)

Submitted(+1)

Amazing art style! Love the effect of the game transitioning from newspaper to actual gameplay! It would be nice if the difficulty was adjustable, the waves are too fast for me right now.

Developer

Thank you and thanks for playing! Difficultly levels would be a good idea, there's a lot of chaos all at once straight away! Something to consider for next time :)

Great idea of a game, maybe you could add other levels with different scenarios like tornadoes or meteor showers.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your comment! We had intended for there to be more disasters - asteroids and smog clouds - but unfortunately ran out of time. Tornadoes would have been a great idea too!

Really clever idea, fits the theme in a sweet way! Nice art overall, and the general storytelling / mood is top-notch. Great job team  whaaaat you were by yourself?! Congrats!!

Developer(+1)

Haha no, there were 4 of us but we don't know how to add more people to game submission! xD Thanks for your kind words!

Submitted(+1)

You can add Admins on the game's page, it should display everyone on the team! :)

Developer

Ooh I think I found it, thanks! :D

Got 12th place... at least for now.
I felt like I was basically playing Tetris under way more pressure, lol. It was a really fun game, although it was a bit challenging to control the ship.

Developer

Yeah, we wanted to tighten the controls but ran out of time! Thanks for playing! :)

I LOVE this game, great sense of humor, looks really cool, and has hilarious sfx!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it! We wanted to do something silly again this year! Always gives us the most energy to get it done!

Submitted(+1)

Cool idea and i find the sfx very funny.Good job

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it! We had a lot of fun recording the sfx! Made a recording booth from a table and some blankets!

Visuals are amazing! Loved the game!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Very difficult! Lot of fun though. Those puny humans really didn't think very hard about where they were building their city, didn't they?

Developer(+1)

Stupid humans never hire proper city planners! We've been submitting our CVs for years!

Thank you for playing! Hope you enjoyed yourself

This is a really challenging game! Good job :)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! I hope to see you topping the leaderboard soon!

Tetris-city-saver nice idea but "those poor souls...."
would like a more clear indicator where my UFO is single block buildings are a little bit hard to grab

Developer

Thank you for playing!

That was on the list of things that we didn't quite have time to implement. One of these years we'll limit our scope so we actually get everything done...

Submitted

Well where would be the fun in that^^

Be sure to check out my game too

60th place on the first try) not bad) Cool idea and great implementation)

Developer

Thank you for playing! Good to see the leaderboards are still working! Never quite managed to get them right for a GMTK! I bet you can get first place if you give it another go :P

Really quite fun for such a simple but creative concept. I loved the ridiculous voice acting. It was a little bit difficult to play precisely and a few times I had to very carefully place the buildings which killed my momentum, but the game is close to perfect overall.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words! The controls definitely needed another revision but unfortunately just ran out of time! Thank you for playing!

Great visuals and idea, a bit jello-e controls but with a bit of tweaks would be a very smooth enjoyable game.
I really liked how you made start sequence work seamlessly with a newspaper style, looks really cool. Also 10/10 sounds. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! I agree I didn't get the controls quite right, but hey, there's always next time!

And I'm really looking forward to play full version of the game if you ever decide to release it!
