How does your game fit the theme?
Gameplay consists of a "reverse-fishing" mechanic where you try to snatch food from fishers without getting caught (basically role reversed from common fishing minigames). Narratively you play as a slime that was defeated by a hero.

Another fishing game! And this one was really good I thought :)
My favorite parts:
- Slowly adding new food, so it wasn't overwhelming
- A proper level-up system, which meant I played a lot longer than I normally play jam games
- I liked intentionally eating the chilis (good XP), and then healing up. That's way more interesting game-design than just having some foods STRICTLY good and others STRICTLY bad.
My suggestions:
- I would have loved if the slime grew in size as the game progressed, since I think that would have shown the progression better.
I feel rather relaxed playing this game. Such a sweet game with nice graphics! It is simple, but portrayed the theme well through the setting, and it was pretty fun!
I love this cute little fella!! Amazing and adorable, and its super super fun. I adore this style <3
This has such an addictive gameplay loop! Really satisfying running around and gobbling up all the grass. It was also interesting having the choice to trade xp for health and overall the whole experience felt really balanced. Art style was also really sweet! I loved the pixelated 3D model for the slime. Really cool game!
Idk why I loved this so much. I guess it's the same as when I play a basic fishing game and really enjoy it. I only thing I'd want is a harder mashing mini game for when you bit the hook. Really good jam game!!
Weirdly enjoyable though a little too easy. Would have been great if there were adventurers or something trying to fight you that you had to avoid until later.
I never thought about making a reverse fishing minigame that's pretty cool, I thought it was a nice cute game! Great job! BTW I think i broke it by mashing all 3 buttons at once to insta win LOL
Thanks for playing!
Yes the pressing multiple buttons thing is a bug, the intended way was to just use one button :D
Impressive game! I really like how you were able to implement so many elements (especially the amount of different herbs and hooks!) together so well in that amount of time. The story is does perfectly it's job and the art-style is very neat!
Overall a very cool and well made game!
Cool game, snapping to the food feels incredibly satisfying. Good job!
hey we had similar ideas! Great game
Nice! Thanks for playing :)
Very cool game! I especially liked the low-res 3d graphics. As some other people were saying, the minigame ended up being way too easy if you pressed multiple of the buttons. One way to make it more engaging may be to force the player to react and press the correct directions rather than just one key, to make it less button mashy. Great job overall!
Thank you for playing and the feedback!
Cool game -- I liked the narrative, and it fit the theme wonderfully! I'm glad the slime is back being a super villain :)
As a side note, there was minor bug which I'm not sure was intentional. If you press space, e, and enter all the at the same time a couple of times, you can beat the fishers in a second or two. It doesn't detract from the experience though. It is still a very fun game with engaging game-play!
My compliments to the artists by the way, I loved the style. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it :)
The part about about pressing different keys at the same time, it's a bug yes. Realized it some time after submission deadline :(
The intended way is to press a single key during the fishing parts.
Really good one. Fits the theme perfectly. I like the tension when you press E repeatedly, it really simulates the feeling of pulling the string :)
Lovely presentation
Simple, but decently fun. Fits the theme well! Could maybe add a bit more motivation/variety if there was a "catch em all" kind of mechanic around finding different bait?
That's a great idea, thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing! :)
Easy but very satisfying, an endless mode would definitely be fun
This was fun
