Love the name.

This is the best idea for the theme I've seen so far.

Developer

Thanks!!! ^-^

The way you handled the gimmick is spot on. Loved the Thumnail...it is steam ready.

Developer

Thank you!!! We changed the thumbnail right as the rating period started, happy we went with this one. :)

I have to say.... this was a real BLAST to play! Good job guys!

This is REALLY good. The style of this game is just amazing. The music and animations you made for the game are really good. A small thing I liked that the sound effect for the base gun are in key with the music.

The map can get a bit confusing though, and the feedback you get for breaking blocks and vines is a bit lacking (especially since it feels like whether or not they actually get destroyed is random).

On the other hand, the way you handled the gimmick of the game was really clever.

The ending was really good too btw, I don't wanna spoil it but if you played the game you know what I mean.

Overall, a really good submission and I'm shocked that it took you only 48 hours to make it!

Thank you very much!! We really appreciate the feedback and kind words.

Very good!

Interesting and well done submission! I love the art (especially the character and its evolving gun) and music. Great job on the level design, it looks a bit weird and empty at first and it may be a bit long before getting the first upgrade. But everything is smooth after that and feels clever. Great ending animation!

Only real downside for me were the frequent unwanted collisions. Moving the character wasn't feeling great all the time.
Also, got quite a few shots that definitely hit the target but didn't destroy it.

Overall, very fine game! Congrats!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the kind words! We appreciate the feedback. :)

Wow this is amazing, Of course the art and style of this are extremely well made but I also really like the metroidvania aspects and how the gun influences your movement. Really well done

Developer(+1)

thank you im glad you liked the mechanics!

My favorite game of the whole jam and a very good job by the level designer.

Developer

thank you so much it means a lot you liked the level design!

I miss the little gun that made music at shooting 😭

Developer

Sorry ;a; After the jam maybe we'll do something about that.

Cool and Fun Concept
If I had a mini-map , I wouldn't be running everywhere mindlessly

If it's not the GMTK 2024 winner, then what this game is?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AC/DC write the song about this game - it's called "BIG GUN"

The amount of dope-ness in this game is definetely overdosed

The Main hero of this story have no enemies - only his constantly growing ego

Thank you for such a fun experience))))

Every time I got a new red crystal - I say to myself "Now were are talking..."

Developer

Ahaha thank you so much!!
Really happy you enjoyed it that much haha, that's the feel we were going for with gathering the crystals. :D

This is such an AMAZING IDEA, it is genius

Developer(+1)

wow thanks i appreciate it!

I love the game! Short but very sweet metroidvania that kept me smiling through my whole play :) The music and SFX work extremely well, and there's something so satisfying about breaking those boxes!

In case it helps, I think I experienced a small bug: when I stand right next to a vine or a box, shooting doesn't destroy it (the bug disappears when using the strongest weapon).

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the kind words!! Really happy you enjoyed the game.

Thanks for the feedback, we are aware of the bug but didn't manage to fix it in time, unfortunately.

Submitted(+2)

Really fun. Overall was a bit easy but the idea and style and everything was great.

Developer

Thank you!! Maybe if we patch it in the future we could add some more difficult puzzles :)

Submitted(+2)

Nice game :)

Great game, it's always exciting to see what's the next gun is gonna look like, i just wish they all played some music like the first one :(

Excellent job on this one !

Developer

Thanks a lot! In retrospect we agree that we should have done that for all the guns.

like art style. Great map design. First time I have seen polished puzzle metroidvania game in jam.
