Absolutely awesome. Top notch level design and a good way to fit the theme of the jam! Art and music are excellent as well. I really enjoyed the little pentatonic/blues scale notes while shooting the first gun. Would be really cool to expand that to the other weapons -- maybe have each one be a different instrument from the band. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks ahaha, yeah we regret not having done that for the bigger weapons too :')
Appreciate the kind words and the feedback! :D

This was so amazingly ridiculous! Loved it, and that ending shot with the giant gun was so satisfying!

One of the best games I've played this jam.

The art is out of this world fantastic. The sounds are very good as well - the polish is excellent.
I also adored the musicality of the first gun you have as the player. I was bummed out when the newest guns didn't have that musicality.

I really enjoyed the re-contextualization of each screen depending on what size gun you had. The bigger the gun didn't just mean you have access to new areas, but you are now too big to access the areas you had prior - I thought that inversion was very clever and added a bit more to just 'now you can access more'.

I only encountered two somewhat 'pain points' - the first is it felt too long to find the first gun upgrade, I felt like I went through a dozen screens. Second is that I got stuck on one of the screens with the golden boxes, I accidentally found the solution that you have to shoot through a gap on the other side of the screen. It's not telegraphed as well as I'd expect.

Either way, one of the best games this year, I hope it's recognized! Excellent work, a masterclass in polish!

Developer

thank you! im very happy you enjoyed it as much as we did!

What a game, perfect execution, I especially loved how the growth can be limiting but also make some jumps possible where they weren’t before, this could easily become a full game just developping on this mechanic !

The only problem is that you can’t shoot blocks if you’re touching them which was a bit annoying to back up everytime but it’s an easy fix.

Developer

Thank you very much!! Happy you liked it :)
Yeah, we'll fix it after the jam hopefully. ''^_^

This was a blast! Such a cool interpretation of the theme—simple and fun.

My only nitpick, which is a bit contradictory, is that the level design guides you too well, so I never had to think much about how to solve the puzzles.

Developer

Thank you very much!!! That's very valid feedback and I'm happy you enjoyed the game!! ^_^

As everyone else has said this game blew my mind! It crazy that you made this in 96 hours! I absolutely love the way the light from the guns shows up on his face and the way the barrels heat up! Also the fact that the shooting has no cooldown lol! I just wish there were some monsters to blow apart! lol
5 stars!

I love the music, I love the art, I ESPECIALLY love the animations and particles that remind me of Metal Slug, I love the shooting SFX (the first gun’s SFX stood out to me).

I do ended up getting lost a lot, so adding something like a minimap would be a nice addition.

There’s also a bug where when I was spam-shooting the 3rd gun (the crate-destroying multi-gun), the player would be unable to jump even after firing the gun. I could continue jumping as soon as I moved around a little bit.

It would also be nice if the destroyed tiles persist when going back to that segment of the map instead of resetting.

Another suggestion would be holding down the button to auto-shoot instead of spam-clicking it.

Developer

Thank you for playing, for the kind words, and for the feedback!

Great art, funky music and fun perfect length gameplay. Loved it. I especially love how the simplicity and the absurdity of the sprites work with the amazing bullet animations and reflect light and stuff.

Big thanks! Very glad you liked it and happy you noticed the reflected light hehe :D

Great name. I'm here for that.

Art work was cool, found the sfx on the projectile collisions so satisfying to the point that i was just running around shooting a lot.

Neat idea!

Developer

Awesome haha, thanks for playing. Happy you enjoyed it :D
