Loved this game. Easily one of my top 5 from the whole jam. It's great response to the theme, and does a beautiful job of giving an ant's-eye-view of a picnic. Eating fruit was very satisfying and I loved that you can crawl beneath the table like an ant would. Wonderful. I had a hard time understanding what the larger goal I was meant to accomplish was, but I had a great time anyway. Awesome job!
Cute game, would've loved a little more view from the camera or faster movement to get a better view of the world
A really cute game. Though it took me really long time to find a strawberry. ate them all before my mission told me to eat them haha.
The game is sweet, but I think it feels better if the movement is faster and the view is wider. Good job.
Really nice and cute game.
Cute game! I was able to clip through the tablecloth :P I really like the style of this one!
Hey, you have a cool toon shader that I was looking for during the development. Mine came out horrible lol. Btw, I took some time to figure out the game and it actually was chaotic. Well done <3
The settings menu changed my life, 'nothing' option was so impressive I cried. Thank you
Anyway the ant physics was very impressive. I assumed the ant would just fall off the brown side of the table when I walk off, and it turning around suprised me. Good job on coding this, I assume that was a nightmare. Making some differences to the ant as it eats more stuff would be a fun idea, like making the ant faster or changing its appearance.
Cute ant and nice game with good atmosphere. Unfortunately it was a bit confusing with the icons what to do. Couldn't eat the blueberries at first but realized I had to get the crumbs first. But eventually when I had eaten all the strawberry I had no idea what to do and then I fell through the floor. Impressive work for 48 hours anyway!
Very cute Ant and art in general. I wasn't too sure what the goal was but I had a great time making fruit explode and carrying a giant sandwich around! Occasionally the physics were a bit off (especially regarding the giant sandwich) and sometimes I couldn't see my ant behind some picnic stuff but I thought that added to the quirkiness.
Very cute game! It was fun exploring the tiny world. The camera felt a little off to me but the rest was awesome. Keep it up!
I see the idea, but it wasn't really fun walking just to find 2 strawberries. It would have been nice to do other things while searching for the fruits (and the big snacks). But the artstyle of the game is lovely!
Great game!
The camera effects sell the idea of being really small, and of course, the theme is present.
Really well done.
Absolutely adorable, love the color palette as well !!
Excellent approach with the 3d art; being a small ant fellow and munching on delicious food was fun!
Didnt know what to do after finding all the objects but cute game! Love the cartoon shading
wonderfull art !! i like how the fruits pops
A cute and relaxing exploration game. The wall climbing mechanic is done nicely. This small ant eats faster than me!
I really liked how the camera shakes a little bit when the ant takes a bite! I really wish that there was a boundary check for the picnic basket tho, since I fell out of the scene haha
There was a nice boundary for 90% of development, but the scene changed so much in the mad panic of the last 10 minutes that a lot of stuff 'slipped through the cracks', including our players xD
The concept is really cute. I’ve also thought about making a 3D game where you play as an insect someday. Since it’s a game jam, I’m sure it was difficult to add more features, but the ant's movement was a bit too slow, which made it feel a bit frustrating. Though it was realistic, :P Anyway, I enjoyed playing it!
Thanks for the kind feedback. Yeah, definitely considering adding a few more mechanics to make discovery and exploration more interesting.
We'd hoped to add a speed increase to eating but unfortunately it didn't get in. We have a nice backlog of items to go into an update after the jam review period.
Thanks for playing!
