Just wanted to thank everyone for checking my game out! I would have never expected top 26% for my FIRST EVER GAME so a massive thank you to everyone that played it

Definitely one of my fav, one of the most creative for me !! Well done !!

Nice art and music. Cool take on the theme going inside cells. As others have mentioned, the movement speed feels a bit slow. Congratulations on your first game!

Nice game and scaling mechanic. I wasn't sure what to do after getting out of the maze, there didn't seem to be any new passage opened. The movement speed was a bit slow.

Developer

After you finish the maze and open the muscle door, you’re supposed to push the plant cell to the left and head up. I realize some of the entrances might be a bit hard to spot. I did try adding some light to guide the player, but it didn’t look quite right and i was running low on time, so i had to scrap that and move on

I'm really impressed that scale really impacts the whole gameplay, great job!

Good job! I wish there were more small-scale games submitted to this jam. It is a bit annoying that you cannot grow when touching a wall (even if there is space to grow on the other side and push against the wall).

A really interesting take on the theme. During our brainstorming we didn't come up with any cell related ideas. Pretty good execution too. The art style was clean. If I did have to criticise something is that the player felt a little slow.

i love the art sytle and the game i really polished. 15 stars from me

I really liked this! Thought it was super clever having the little maze inside of the cells :)

Awesome job! I had fun playing this game. I hope you do more with this. I want to play more! Really cool idea and creative too. Art and visuals are great. I would love a tiny bit more movement speed. I really liked your game. Nice work!

Feel free to give my game a try, Tinker Escape.

Cheers!

That was a really pleasing experience, the music grew on me pretty fast ;) Physics are very well handled, level design is pretty good with not too much backtracking, gameplay fits the theme, for a first game you did a very good job! Congrats!

Simple, but effective style - some sound settings would be appreciated, as well as interpolating the player motion (you seem to only update the position on physics frames) Re-thinking the two-cell blockade mechanics would be useful, but otherwise, good job for a first game!

Very fun!  I like the art style and usage of the theme!  I do wish I could move a tiny bit faster, but otherwise, I had a lot of fun!

Fun idea, catchy music, it's just a little tedious to push aroud the cells, maybe boost the speed when pushing

Submitted(+1)

I love the way the cells looked! Simple but effective art style, coupled with a theme-implemented gameplay!

It's a unique concept! I love the music and the art style. It was a fun game to play. Great work!

Submitted(+1)

The game adheres to the theme really well! I love the fact that the camera zooms in on the cell when shrunk which probably doubles as a mechanic where we could not see far, making use of the sizing.

loved the visual style!

two feedback points:
1. the music was very loud, a volume slider would be nice

2. the character seemed to be a bit blurry while moving, might be a rendering issue with your project settings

Developer

Wait is it blurry while moving for you? It looks normal im my pc. Also my headphones' voluma was way wayy down while making the game so i didnt notice how loud the music is lol

Really cool idea! Controls feel nice too. I did get stuck at the point where the amoeba needed multiple cells.

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah, I get what you're saying. The idea was for the cells to be released and then have a 10-second delay before they can be eaten again, to prevent players from accidentally trapping themselves. I should've made that system simpler, but hey, lesson learned! 😅 I'll take this as a learning experience for next time.

Hey cool concept, its actually really similar to my game :)

Nice game! Love the art love the music love the vibe love the art again.

A bit slow though, would have loved to be a bit faster

I love the concept, nice entry!
