I liked the idea, but the game felt pretty slow, and I had issues with typing faster than the game could register, it ended up missing some of my inputs, so I had to erase the word before typing again slower.
The words felt a bit too random, it would be nice if there were some items spread through the map that make your attack power stronger, or make you move faster, but in exchange, you have to type longer words.

Thanks for playing!
Our initial play-testing showed that even this start speed was too fast for some people. So we added a feature for better typers that you could try to "outrun" the screen and push it upwards for bonus points - meaning chasing the high score on the leaderboard would be fast from the get-go! We did not really have time to explain this well in-game. So to break it down - push the screen up for 10 bonus points. Every 30 seconds the speed ramps up. It gets hectic quite fast after a couple of speedups.
Regarding the inputs - I am pretty sure the input detection itself is lightning-fast and updates every frame but there is probably a bug that we detect multiple inputs at a time. This means that if your key inputs overlap then it would probably detect both and end up messing up your word. If this was a full-fledged game I'd handle the inputs definitely better so great input, thanks!
This is great, global #24 ;)
This is a fantastic concept, not too stressful, not too difficult. A nice water shader would've added a lot to this, but in this form you can see where it could go from here. Very unique and fitting for the theme :)
Thanks for playing!
Originally the idea was that these are floating islands but we could not create art to represent this well due to time constraints. Valid points indeed! The games does get pretty stressful if you try to push the screen upwards by running away from it (which rewards you with bonus points).
A lovely take on the theme, as someone who types a lot this was right up my jam haha!
Music was excellent, not too intrusive as to distract from typing.
Also glad I managed to make the top 25 on the leaderboard 😁 (excellent work, implementing something like that within the time constraints!)
That was a fun intense game! If you wanted to add more it would be cool to pick up powerups on some of the islands that let you go multiple spaces or give only three letter words for a set time or something! Good work!

Simple, but very effective. Great premise, design, and art. Well done.
What a nice concept! Very cleaver aplication! Congrats!
Wow forgot how intense a type raceing game could be! It was a fun way to practice a bit of typing
Really enjoyable game! I like the having to balance resource management with the need to move forwards :)
this game made got me on the edge of my seat haha. but i got 343 points! its a really fun concept, and i can swear the word list changes based on the direction/action i’m doing (if so, nice touch). the music is a bit too calm tho (: great job!! check out my game
Fun game, enjoyed the concept, chill music, cutting down trees by typing was unique. Could lean into the scaling a bit more, but fun nonetheless :D
Though I'm not usually a fan of typing games, I found this one surprisingly enjoyable. It's very creative, and I can easily see it being developed into a serious game for teaching spelling. Great entry!
Thanks! The leaderboard was one of those "I want to learn how to do it" things. Essentially a leaderboard in a game jam is a poor feature as it takes time out of actually developing the game. BUT, I think if you make an endless runner then you might as well consider leaderboard as an essential feature, haha!
I'm #2 in the world! I love typing games, and this was nicely executed. Great work!!
