I love these kinds of games! Your twist on the genre worked very well when it came to the theme, and the art style was very defined while also being very unique! Keep up the good work!

Really cool concept! Started getting difficult once the roving cannons came into play, but still fun! I wonder how the game would be different if different parts of the ship or asteroid could be damaged? I think it would be really cool to see the asteroid break apart, and it would be a neat way to represent your HP, but I could also see it being really frustrating going into a level and then losing because your guns got destroyed and you couldn’t shoot.

Developer

Yeah we thought about that and decided it was too difficult to avoid some specific ship parts from being damaged. Thank you for playing !

I love the visuals and design, and the concept is very cool too! The gameplay is pretty cool too, it really allows the player to get creative in choosing how to solve each challenge, which I think is pretty dang awesome.

If I were to give one suggestion, it would be that the sounds felt a bit inconsistent, and I feel like they need some tweaking in terms of volume mixing. But cool and unique game, and a very good effort!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, designing the sound ourselves, and generally putting more time into it for the areas we can control (like mixing) would have been a great plus if we had the time. Glad that other than that you liked it !

Really good game! Art fits so well and the gameplay is really engaging! I played it through twice to try out some different designs!

a great way of implementing the theme! adding the undo button is a plus to the game play! congrats! tbh I thought I can go behind the enemies and shoot them but no I cant XD

Developer

You can but you have to make your ship thin enough.

Glad you liked the game !

Good stuff! It like the strange designs you wind up with

I did skip all the dialogue by accident

Submitted(+1)

That was really fun and reminded me of Gummi Blocks from Kingdom Hearts or Lego.
Definitely put a big goofy smile on my face lol

Something I would look into is that it's very easy to accidentally skip dialogue because you're already clicking the shoot button from trying to beat the timer before you die.

Developer(+1)

You can keep the button pushed while in the shmup mode, and that won't skip the dialogue. But yeah good idea, we could put in a second or two in the briefing scenes where clicking does nothing, to prevent fast clicking to skip dialogues

Great job! I would suggest taking a bit more time to balance the levels of your music and SFX but I assume you ran out of time.

Developer

Correct ahah, 4 days is better than 2 but still pretty short

I like the ship editor a lot and it's great that you added a preview button so there's less surprises when the round starts. All around a great game. Nice job!
