This is a great tutorial level if you ever expand on the game later on! It runs players by the mechanics clearly and smoothly. I found it amusing that I could kick the poop around heh. Having different sizes give different mechanics is a great start for some potentially complex puzzle platforming :)

Developer(+1)

Yeah it was meant as an intro to the games mechanic, I tried to cram as much as I could in 2 days, but that's all I got :D! Poop physics are the best. Thanks a lot for playing! Glad you enjoyed it!

Congrats on your first game! The narration is quite refreshing. The game feel and control are two areas of improvement I think you could look into!

Developer(+1)

Yeah the movement and animation is still to be worked on :D, Ani (the one who drew the sprites) just didn't have enough time to do animations, it was also her first time doing art for games and stuff, so I animated everything in Godot. That's why it looks a bit janky :D. Thanks for your feedback! And thank you for playing glad you enjoyed it!

Very good mechanic, you could make a very fun longer game with it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing! I'm happy you enjoyed it it means a lot! I've gotten few people already telling me to continue and add more levels(already had some drawn), so I've already started working on polishing it up and I'll be updating it once the jam finishes!

Cute game :D The pooping mechanics has actually a big potential. It's a pity you didn't manage to do a larger level.  But you'll definitely manage to do more in the next jam!

Developer

Soon Brackeys game jam, signed up for it! And yeah I know I should have at least tried to make it bigger, but I just didn't have time :(.
I'll try and update it with a more polished feel and look! Thanks a lot for playing!

I am greatly saddened when the parakeets die. The poop mechanic was nice. Good game for your first game jam :).

Developer(+1)

Next update, the parakeet goes to sleep instead of dying! Thank you for playing!

hahaha very creative!! 🦜

good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Gongrats on your first game! Nice idea, too sad it's too short!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm sorry it wasn't longer :(, I'll update it when the jam ends! Thanks again!

Submitted(+1)

As others have said: good job on the pooping mechanic! ;) Congrats on your very first game, and on finishing it in time, nice work! :)

Developer

Thanks a lot! It was a bit stressful but I got it in time :D thank you!

Hey really nice entry for being your first one! I feel that it has potential :)

I dont think that thats how pooping works in real life but i am not a doctor so i have no say in that.

Great entry :)

Developer(+1)

I literally have your game open to play next in 5 min :D expect a review on your game in a bit!

Not only you're not a doctor, but you're not a bird. You don't know where birds poop from, and it's from their heads!

I'm kinda inclined in not fixing it now tbh :D

Thanks a lot for playing!

I cannot argue with that logic. hahaha

Thanks! :)

I liked the pooping part haha, pretty original take on the concept :)

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked the pooping part hehe :D

Amazing work. Especially considering it's your first game and your first jam! Congrats! Your use of the theme in your idea is well executed! I had a lot of fun playing! Your art is soooooo good. I love the cute little parakeet and it flaps when it jumps <3. I was sucked in right away because I have a lovebird at home. :) My only constructive criticism would be that perhaps instead of dying, maybe the bird is challenged by something else that stops it from progressing... maybe it gets tired....or maybe it falls into a pit of seeds or something and it can't resist staying in there & eating? lol that's a weak idea but you get what I mean. I would love for you to continue with this game. It's too cute! Incredible job. Beautiful, fun game. :)

Feel free to check out my game, Tinker Escape. :)

I can imagine seeing a Parakeet getting distracted in the middle of him doing something, he just goes to sleep :D. Made me think of "Tiny Wings" an old iOS game where the bird just falls asleep when the nights fall and you gotta restart.

And yes I had more levels planned out but just didn't have time since the weekend I wasn't home, and mostly coded everything on the go in a camping car on stops. So it was a good experience! I'm glad you liked my game, thanks a lot for playing it!

Having the bird fall asleep would be adorable!!!

Submitted(+1)

Ayy nice concept! it would've been a better game if it had more levels, but it's still enjoyable!

Love poopin

eheh

poop

Also that death is SO VIOLENT DAMN

Really cute game overall, liked playing it! :D

Developer(+1)

Yeah I should have made more levels for sure, just didn't have much time.

Hehe poop

Thanks a lot for playing! Glad you liked it!

Cute little game! I like how each "stage" had a different ability, though I would have love to explore the different mechanics more. Nice job!

Developer(+1)

I had plans on making more levels, but just didn't have time! Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

The bird sprite is lovely! I do wish I could see it bigger tho!

Also 10/10 poop mechanic, I am sure I would also have trouble flying under the same circumstances

All in all nice entry!

Developer

Is this big enough? I had trouble with scalling in the game this is why it doesn't look too good :(, but I fixed it yesterday I think?
Imagine jumping after eating 3 apples.
Thanks a lot for playing!

haha that was fun  to jump and poop around ; that bird's health should be checked though, i don't think he should be pooping from the back of his head like that ^^ well done !

Developer(+1)

You should have seen when the collision box of the bird was a rectangle, the poop just stayed on his head :D! Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Very cute and fun game! I like to poop :D

Developer

Everyone likes to poop :D ! Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

This is a really cool concept and quite good for a first game! The various abilities/limitations of the sizes give a lot of potential for cool level design.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! And thank you for playing! I'm going to do some new levels that I have drawn, will update after the voting ends!

Submitted(+1)

Good work for your first project. It was hilariously mean to say "press shift to dash" right before a spike trap, killing me instantly! Good luck for any future projects

Developer

I'm glad someone finally fell for that(sorry it had to be you)! It's just so you can hear the "pop" sound hehe. Thanks a lot for playing!

Submitted(+1)

It was very cute and fun. I found it interesting how you linked jumping with growth. It seems to have a lot of potential!

Developer

When the jams finish, I'll try and update it with more levels instead of having just one! Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

It's a great start for your first jam! Also, cool interpretation of the theme too.

Developer

Was really fun making it, I had in plans to create more levels, but just didn't have time, and got stuck with just the intro level. Thanks for playing!
