Played and rated! I only placed 5th after playing three times. It's simple but effective, and the leaderboard is a crowd favorite during jams; well done! :)
Pretty good game! Just a few more crops with different rules and I could see this relesing as a paid game.
Ggreat game! Definitely my favorite of the jam. Had to snag 1st place.
That means so much!! Great job taking first, the last guy had a higher score than me and by alot hahaha
My two favorite things in games are farming and chaining combos. I feel like this game was made for me. Small selection of crops but their effects are just varied enough to make for some interesting gardens, Having a chain of cucumbers and activating them for a big combo was really fun. Two small nitpicks:
1. Sometimes the two offered crops are the same.
2. When new crops are offered you have to click one of the arrows to be able to select it, even if there is already an arrow pointing at a crop.
The game is super polished and the sound effect for scoring is super satisfying. Great job! :D
Thank you for your kind words! Will definitely be fixing those issues post-jam!
Very stylish and fun! I admit I'm no good at games like this, but it's a very entertaining way to pass the time! Excellent work!
Thank you so much!! Just out of curiosity, what would make a game like this easier for you? Asking so I know what to work on if taking it further, easy modes, etc
For me personally, a proper in-game tutorial can go a long way, especially for strategy games like this one. Adding different difficulty options is also a great way to make the game more accessible to people who aren't as familiar with the genre as others. Both of these things can be tricky to implement in a game jam game with such limited time to work though, but it might be worth a try sometime!
very easy dopamine felt very good
Lovely cozy game! Has an interesting point system that actually makes you think but not too hard, keeping it light and fun.
Thank youuu so glad you liked it!!
Very cozy indeed! Love the art style and combo ideias! Could be a very fun mobile game.
Thank you so much!!
Cool game! I did encounter a bug that I could not just press down arrow to select my crop right away if I wanted to select the left crop, but I had to press right arrow left arrow and then down arrow, which was a bit unsatisfying. Really fun cozy game though, I got a score of 62900 ;)
Yeah I'm really mad at myself for leaving that bug in, it's all of one line of code! It kinda breaks the immersion, but I'm glad you had fun anyways <3
surprised at the amount of depth in this! had a great time, really good work
Thank you so much! Means a ton <3
Sadly I could not play because I do not have arrow keys but I still really liked your art style and the concept a lot. Not to mention the main music theme is really a vibe. Good job.
Aw man I'm very sorry I should've considered different keyboard types, really sorry about that! Thanks for the compliments, means a lot seeing as you weren't able to play <3
Very polished and a lot of fun! It's simple enough that it's easy to understand, but has just enough depth to be addictive. I think the connection to the theme could be a bit stronger, but this was still really enjoyable.
Thank you so much!! Appretiate this so much :D
phenomenal entry! I'll see you on the top 100 video for sure!
Ahhh that means so much thank you!!!
The game was super polished, really addictive. It had just enough variables in it to keep me on my toes and prevent it from getting stale. LOVE the leaderboard too!
I like the idea and art style! The simple no-mouse controls are nice, and there's lots of juice.
Having a more noticeable catalog would have been nicer, since I almost missed it until after a few rounds.
Thank you for the nice words and the feedback, yeah definitely next time I'll make it more noticeable, probably start with it open or something like that. Thank you!!
Wow insanely addictive. I can see how this game would enthrall me for hours and hours on end! Extremely well done! (This is my sweet spot of games, farming and puzzles XD)
OMG thank youuu! Means so much to me, these kinda comments motivate me to work on the game further :)
Loved it! Super polished and very satisfying to chain together crops, allowing for different strategies. Definitely one of my favorites!
Awww that means a ton, thank you so much!
I got a score of 17900. Well executed idea. And it has a leaderboard. That is a big plus and makes the game even more replayable. Good take on the theme too.
Thank you so much for playing! Glad you liked it :)
You polished that "cozy game" (smart of you to change the name :D) so much, it's super juicy and cute! I love how satisfying it is to activate the multipliers. Great game, congrats on publishing!! :)
Thank you so much, this means so much!! Thanks for checking it out :)
This was a very fun and satisfying game! The art was really nice to look at it and it was insanely satisfying watching the points add up. I noticed a slight problem with the selector, where it would show an arrow despite not having one selected yet, but it was far from game-breaking and just led to a tiny bit of confusion. I found that it was a little too easy to spam crops everywhere, so I think making the crops COST a certain amount of points could make the gameplay a little more interesting. It might also be good to force the player to wait for the points to finish adding up before letting them continue. I also think it would be great if there was a preview of where the plant would go when you dropped it, along with maybe showing the effect it will have on the placed tiles. I get that having to figure it out in your head is a big part of the fun, but I honestly think it could be even MORE fun if you knew ahead of time how many points you could get, allowing you to super-optimize your score. Maybe it could be a separate game mode or something. None of these changes are remotely required, though. The game is already really good in its current state. Great job!
Wow, this is super useful stuff! Thank you so much for leaving such an amazing review, I'll be sure to work on this post jam! Lemme go check out your game!!! :)
