How does your game fit the theme?
Our game was inspired by the sheer chaos of hitting the "Randomize" button on a character creation screen, but this time with grave gameplay consequences! Each time you grab a pick-up, it's a roll of the dice whether you'll come out ahead, so you need to decipher the game's stat system and play strategically.

Absolutely amazing art, very creative game play too!
Although this game is pretty loosely based on the theme of rolling dice, it's a trip and a half to play in the best way possible. So many cool effects and the hairstyles never disappointed so it's quite impressive for a jam game. I wish that there was more player agency in terms of choosing when to shoot or move because that would add some much-needed difficulty and strategy to an otherwise stellar gem. I saw that you intend to fix the misclicking on the barber which was the only "bug" I encountered so kudos!
Thank you so much! Yeah, that bug is going to the top of our things to address when we update the game.
The art is straight FIRE omg! Music is lit too with a really fun and intuitive concept to back it up! The perm screen is super smart and fits your theme really well! Amazing :)
Thank you so much!
Everything looks horrifying. Really well done.
Haha, thank you! Sometimes even I get a little scared looking at the game.
Very enjoyable, completely bizarre in the best way possible. I now hate maggots even more so thanks for that, but i now think perms are a good idea. sooo win win. The game was presented well, played well, sounded great, and looked fantastically bizarre. My only feedback is it gets a little easy at the end but then again after 6 perms id be pretty badass too.
Thank you! Yeah, the post-jam version will likely be a little more challenging, haha.
I cannot wait. I bet it is going to be even more amazing
I enjoyed the game, but the whole thing is weird. Good job!
Glad you enjoyed it, at least!
Really funny and enjoyable game!
Thank you so much!
This is my nightmare... I love it =D
Haha, glad you do!
I successfully protected my brain!
I love the artstyle, I love the mechanics of randomization & optimizing your build, and I loved all the music!
I wish there was a timer to show how long it will be until your next perm - like, how far in the wave you are. There was one time where I accidentally clicked on a perm option because I was firing towards the left side of the screen when the barber showed up.
I never quite figured out what hair color did - is it just cosmetic?
I also wish some of the "weaker" stats were balanced - like, there's really no reason to intentionally pick slow hair growth.
All in all, a great use of the theme!
The hair color actually controls your shot power. The progression is grey < green < blue < purple < gold, which may or may not sound familiar to you!
Regarding the barber, I've had mixed tester feedback-- Some actually enjoy the chaos of not being sure when the barber will appear next. Either way, in the post-jam version I definitely intend to take measures to prevent these misclicks.
In any case, I'm glad you enjoyed, and thank you for the feedback!
I did in fact, protect my brain. Awesome stuff! I really like the creapy/eary vide of the whole game. looks totally different from all the other stuff I played so far. Really awesome visuals and sounds!
I also like how the powerups of the hair are not explained very well, so you have to figure out what everything does on the spot, which results in making a choice while getting a perm actually kinda nerve wracking. I believe this is intended because that barber is certainly enhancing that effect.
Only problem I have is that the game is a little to easy if you get a power up that sprays bullets everywhere.
Really cool stuff. Best thing I played thus far :)
Thank you so much! Yeah, the barber is meant to be a bit confusing to a new player, and indeed, right now it's definitely tuned on the easier side and we'll likely rebalance things to bump the difficulty up a slight notch in the post-jam version.
What the stylish brainkeeper! Your hair is a fence from parasites. Like your simple gameplay, surreal art and potential thought in this game. Good luck!
Thank you!
Simple gameplay with incredible visuals, audio, and aesthetic! This is really weird and really cool!
Thank you so much!
Great soundtrack and visuals! I didn't realise the significance of the dice roll mechanic while playing, though - I never noticed that different styles had different stats.
In hindsight we could have probably made some stat differences a bit more dramatic. Thank you for the kind comments and feedback!
Awesome style and arcade vibes. Great job!
Thank you so much!
Truly grotesque, I love it
Glad you enjoy it!
Crazy and brilliant!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I got a decent hair set, most of it permed, then got a receding hairline and died. Seems like an omen for my life.
I wish your real-life hair all the best for the years to come. Thanks for playing our game!
Trying to figure out what the different kinds of hair contributed to / meant was honestly really fun, and getting perms was also a really interesting mechanic that added a lot
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed these mechanics!
Some truly magnificent hair in this!
Really fun little shmup, with a wonderfully absurd premise. Presentation is amazing, with the superb soundtrack, brilliant pixel art and the perfectly chosen descriptors for the hair.
Getting a perm to lock abilities in place is inspired.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
YOU PROTECTED YOUR B R A I N. The gameplay was really simple but oh I loved the concept of changing hairstyles and them having different abilities! Brilliant!
Banger soundtrack and interesting graphics! Great job!
Thank you so much!
