How does your game fit the theme?
You use your dice that you find throughout the dungeon to empower yourself and change your destiny. You literally crash into enemies by rolling into them too. The rolls of your dice will determine how difficult the game becomes. You need to strategically use different levels of dice in order to survive!

looks great and feels pretty decently , bats are a bit hard i think but i ended up learning how they work and managed to get a bit farther down the floors. the only thing is that i didnt even realize the dice affected ur inventory, i kept instantly using them once i got them lol i was perma 1 heart

very nice looking art and great sound effects! im unsure of what rolling the rice actually does but im sure i did something wrong haha. great work!

The game looks and feels really polished. I loved the art ❤️🎲 On the other hand I have trouble understanding how to play. It seems like every time I attack I just loose a heart and the space bar does nothing except play a sound. Am I doing something wrong?

Developer

Yeah, I didn't really have time to add a bit more feedback for the main dice-rolling mechanics. So they aren't entirely clear about what they do and the game is a bit on the difficult side! Thanks for playing!

I couldn't really get a grip on how to play, but the game looked nice and attacking was very satisfying :)

Great game! really liked it

It was a little confusing, but very fun!

I honestly really liked this. Not only is it apparent that a lot of effort was put into this, it's also quite beautiful. The attack is very fun because it moves you close to the enemies, so you can't just spam like in most other games.

Also, wow you put a ton of effort into the itch page

Developer

Yeah, I definitely want to do a lot more with combat styles similar to that in the future! Thanks!

I had a lot of trouble understanding how the dice mechanics worked. In addition, there is the extreme difficulty of the game, which frustrated me a lot at first. Eventually I got the hang of it and then the game was a lot of fun. I would have liked some kind of tooltip for dices lying on the ground, so I know if it's worth picking them up. Nevertheless, I think the game is a great submission. I Love the aesthetics. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the difficulty was caused by an oversight in the code. I wrote something incorrectly so the bounce physics are quite harsh. If I had more time I definitely would've implemented more UI. Thanks!

Very cool pixel art, and interesting mechanics

This game was great!  I loved the feeling I got when I repeatedly attacked an enemy or had super high damage.  I must say that I was a little confused on the dice rolling mechanic though.  Also, the music and the visuals were simply divine.

Really nice game! It was tricky to get started, but once I got into it, it is really fun! Sound effects are great and I LOVE the cute pixelart.

Great job! It has a lot of potential, I'd definitely get a full game of this if it had some more mechanics and depth. Be proud!

Hey very enjoyable rougelike action game here! It was pretty tricky, especially at first since I wasn't completely understanding the attack, but after a couple runs it made more sense (ohhh and now reading your theme description you ROLL into them... I kept thinking why would I want my character to charge and attack but it goes with the theme!) Also didn't completely understand it while playing, but the idea of holding unto a large stat boost or using it to gain a small permanent one is a nice idea too.

Anyway nicely done with this. This is a very solid entry into the GMTK jam!

Super cool game and fun gameplay! I just wish the controls were introduced to the players more as the players progressed.

Developer

That's definitely something I would've implemented with a bit more time!

This gets the certified "breathtaking" award

That's a frenetic gameplay! haha

The art is amazing, the music is great, and the gameplay is really polished! I really enjoyed playing!

You did a great job!

Really fun, will definitely be coming back to get to the bottom! Very satisfying attack, great 8-bit music. Absolutely echo the below comment in that mashing attack is way more effective than trying to be strategic.

Submitted(+1)

This was a really neat game.  Attacking started to feel fun once I realized I can mash the attack button and get quick combos!

Very nice entry! I had fun with the controls hitting the enemies with the dash was very satisfying

Submitted(+1)

Very interesting game. I love the visuals. Everything looks very well-rounded in an 8-bit style and feels more like a complete game than a Game Jam entry. Good Job!

The game is fun. The presentation and music are really good. If it was possible to add something (like a sound or a visual cue) when I hit the spikes it would have a little better. Good game overall
