Alright, this is brilliant, the mix of real-time and turn-based gameplay, the way the more difficult enemies get the same roll as you for movement, just the idea of utilizing the dice rolls as your stamina/action points per turn, and the amount of content set up between the campaign, endless, and roguelike modes, really impressive entry, had a lot of fun with this one!
Have a nice day
this game is really cool!! mixing real-time and turn-based mechanics is really difficult to pull off, but i feel like you struck a nice balance. i do wish the game was a bit speedier though, but i loved the amount of levels!! the notes were very funny too.
Loved the idea and the way you merged real time combat with turn based movement, it was a really good surprise to encounter after some levels of only movement. Keep it up!
A very impressive game with a lot of high-quality levels! I loved the audio effects as well.
Nice puzzle game!
I think the controls could have been improved. On PC/Keyboard and Mouse, the use of AWSD for movement is pretty universal. Not far from them, there are Q and E that could have been used for your roll/select actions :)
Other than that, I had fun reading the story! Good job for your game
Clever mix of real time and turn based, making the most of bad situations and thinking on your feet, but sometimes you do just get screwed by bad luck or waiting for your enemies to stop moving.
This game feels surprisingly similar to the parts of DnD I quite like. There's a sense of taking chances, never knowing if you'll outrun the enemy.
Something weird happend and the game that's shown for my submission is wrong. Here's the correct game: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-jam-2022/rate/161814
Interesting game. Graphics could have been a bit better. Please check out my game.
Very cool concept, just a bit too slow on animations both moving and rolling the dice
I liked it overall. I would have liked for there to be more levels/enemies/twists like the sword, or maybe features like a highlight showcasing all the places you could possibly go with your limited moves but overall the concept was executed well with nice sound and graphics. Well done.
I don't know why but I could not enter fullscreen both in the browser version and executable? I had to use an external program to force it.
Actually a neat game but a bit underwhelming for my personal dice. But the challenge to run from the monsters is a neat one and I quite like the idea. With some refinement and thought this could be a non-combat story driven casual game. 2/3/3
Stay crunchy.
It's good mixture between puzzle games and turn base combat games
This game reminded me of those old-style windows games on XP. The text in game is hilarious and the overall action-puzzly feel of it was great :P
Levels are interesting but the randomness makes it a little unfair in places. The movement also feels quite slow. Other than that it's a good game with cool gameplay.
Solid game all around! I enjoy how you when you get the sword you get to go back to the older levels to replay them and feel powerful rather then threatened. This could make for a nice mobile game if you could tap a square (or drag out a line) to get to an area. Overall super fun game!
The difficulty paired with this game's random nature is a killer in my opinion. You have a very fun base gameplay loop and strategy here but your level design does not lend itself well to a variety of rolls. In the room where you must use the wall to avoid the Hopper, you are required to get at least a 9 to survive or otherwise you must use up all your turns behind the wall (very slowly) to try it again next roll. If there was some option to reroll dice or more alternate paths I could see this being a simple addictive game. Love the idea!
Not a bad game but could have more challenge
Level three kinda destroyed me, rip RNG
I beat the story and tried the endless mode and roguelike mode for a little bit and I think that the story mode is the best one, because it has the least punishment for failing. The dice mechanic doesn't really make the game interesting and just screws you over sometimes.
I think the super hopper was the most fun enemy since it has the same number of turns you have, making you actually think about strategies instead of hoping to get a high number.
I also like that you eventually get a sword and can give these stupid monsters what they deserve.
overall , while not being that thoughtful , it's still a fun little dungeon crawler. Well done.
