Though I've played a good handful of roller games, this is probably one of the best ones in terms of presentation. Still, my small brain kinda struggled, and I think there might be a bug with some panels not activating, even when the proper face was on. Other than that, it was nice and clean. Great job^^

Great aesthetic and interesting gameplay! And the sounds are very very pleasing. Good game!

I really loved the aesthetic of this one! And the voiceover in the menu was intriguing, it would’ve been interesting to keep it playing or otherwise incorporate that into the rest of the levels as well! :D

Great job!

I've seen games with a similar concept on this Jam, but this was done well nevertheless!

I went into this thinking "Oh great, another one of these games, but this one looks pretty"-- but I left being really impressed! This game was pretty, and it had very pleasant sound design; but more than that, it had a really nice take on this genre and had some really interesting mechanics! This was a pleasure to play, thank you!

Developer

I'm glad that was the case. :)

a literal dice roller. love the vaporwave aesthetic. i got stuck at level 9 (for some reason i had no access to the last island even after trying all other portals). wish i can interact with other elements on the screen like the move counter window. good job!

Developer

Moving the windows has been added in the post jam release! :D

Would you be interested in getting pinged when that goes live?

Submitted

sure. hope to see more levels and more expanded mechanics.

Developer

A post jam version has come out, but it's mostly bug fixes and polish, not new content and there's a webGL version if you wish to check it out!

Submitted

Great! I'll check it out. Hope you can check out my post-jam update as well. I'll be uploading an update again next week.

Well executed puzzler! A slight stylistic note is that I find it easier to "read" a d6 when it's just dots and not numbers, but that's just a subjective thing probably. Other than that the music and visuals were on point and I had some fun puzzling through it. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Numbers were chosen to make development time easier as the content of the dice could be erased or modified without needing to mess with texture variants or controlling each face texture differently.

I agree with what everyone else said - this sort of puzzle relies on a type of strategizing that I don't think comes naturally - understanding the topology of a die well enough to imagine its orientation in N moves. I think in general its not a very fun mechanic for a puzzle unfortunately. It didn't lead to any "aha" moments for me, I just messed around until I figured it out. That said, nice level of visual polish, this is one of the better submissions like this I saw.

Developer

Heya, I wanted to reach out and express that the way you worded your comment was quite harsh. While it is true there were many similar games to this one, and certain games will click more with some people than others. Stating that 'everyone else said' that this is not a very fun puzzle mechanic is somewhat harsh and lends itself to overgeneralization. I'm sorry to hear that you did not have any "aha" moments like many others did during levels 4-5. Please be mindful of the way your reviews are written in the future as we had no way of imagining what others would come up with and this type of review lead me to just feel bad about myself rather than find constructful information which I could use to improve as a game dev. I hope you understand that I'm not trying to shame you, or tell you to not give negative feedback and I'm certainly not trying to pick a fight of any sort.

This type of puzzle, tho not your fault, was already made like a million times at this point. I'm sort of just rolling around until I got the correct face, and there's not much I can do about it really, this is just not my cup of tea. I also don't know if this is a bug, but sometimes I land on a button with the correct face, and it doesn't unlock anything, I step off and step back on it with the exact same orientation, and it unlocks. The artstyle is pretty nice, I like the little windows in the main menu, it was well made. Well done!

I've played a bunch of games with a similar concept this jam, but this is probably one of the most well-executed ones, with some fun challenging puzzle design.

Cool puzzle design, I like it. But sounds are hurting my ears and I've probably seen this gameplay 10 times by now. But you have some unique mechanics like teleport. Good job anyways.

Love the aesthetic and gameplay! Good puzzle design too!

Fun and varied puzzles. Few minor bugs did not prevent me from having fun with this game. Really fitting graphical style and background music. The only annoyance was that the dice sound effect got a little bit annoying. :)

Good job!

Pretty nice game. I unfortunately cant really do this kind of puzzle since its really difficult to visualize where I want to go, especially only when seeing 3 sides of the dice. Having some sort of indicator to show which side would be on the bottom if I move would be a great addition to help people out. The aesthetic is great and I like how youve styled it after window boxes

A very nice aesthetic to the game you got there! Love the art theme! Also, the puzzles are pretty w3ell designed. Aside from some bugs and UI refinements that can be made, the game is pretty much ready for release, in my opinion xD

You introduce your unique mechanics really nicely, and the only thing that I'd like you to add more than anything would be a few more levels using the stamping machine mechanic - it's a shame that there's only 1 level using that mechanic, which was the last level.

A lot of potential for the game, and I'm looking forward to your post-jam update!

Post Jam Polish/bug fix update is out! It would help massively if you left thoughts on the page :P

How interesting that we named our games the same but they are so different! Nice art style!

Super neat graphics and style. I enjoyed the gameplay but I felt that it could have been a little more responsive. Buttons took a moment to register my side and the reset button took a while to kick in as well. Outside of those minor gripes though this was really well done. The button mechanics and side removal effects felt pretty original. Nice work!

The vibe goes really hard. It was a great choice to include these audioclips, they add so much to the general aesthetic. The look of the menu is soooo good too, it’s really perfectly selling what you’re going for

Well done!

Fun game! I love the aesthetic and the eraser tile is a neat addition to this sort of game.

Nice puzzle game, the eraser pads surprised me :D
