Had a lot of fun with it !
Great job and good polish !!
I really enjoyed this game. Unfortunately losing all progress after death is very frustrating. Especially since you can collect so much. The damage display on the bottom right helped me a bit to understand roughly how much damage I'm doing. But it would have been better to show in which range of damage I am. So I would have been able to estimate whether I would engage or not. Nevertheless, I like this game very much. Collecting collectables and killing enemies feels very juicy and i love the artstyle and music. Overall i think this is a very impressive submission. Good job.
I agree, seeing a range of values would've been a great feature to have. I found, in testing, that I'd sometimes wonder whether or not I had a chance of actually defeating an enemy, but unless you're really good at multiplying 10 numbers together quickly (which I am not), then that's difficult to figure out. Unfortunately, time ran out before I got to that, but I definitely understand what you're saying! I'm glad you found the rest of the game juicy, though, I'm glad the time spent polishing those features was well spent! Thanks for all the feedback, it's great to hear!
i love the music and the art, for the rest is a very polish dungeon crawler good job !
Had the same issue than ThatANonoWord. Otherwise, really good game
Nice one! Hard, but easy to understand. Pick up stuff, get stronger, kill enemies. Simple and clean.
I had a hard time seeing what was what in the background though, all the colors kind of blended together for me and I had to squint to see what was a wall and not. Otherwise nice visual style too!
Sorry to hear that the background was difficult to see! Thinking back to it now, I probably could've adjusted the colours a little more, or made the walls stand out a bit more, so I'm sorry I didn't figure that out sooner in development! It's nice that you found the gameplay easier to understand, though, so I'm glad that came across well! Thanks for the feedback.
I love the visual flair the game has, the music is great, the game feels good to play, and it's a really neat interpretation of the theme! good job!
I really liked the vibe of this game. It fit the theme without making it so obvious what the theme was. I enjoyed getting to play around and explore the different rooms. I really liked how you left the player to discover things on their own instead of explaining everything right away. The only thing I would suggest is being able to hold down WASD to move as the tapping was quite annoying at times especially when trying to escape the goblins. Overall, great game!!
Aha, I see that I wasn't the only one who spent a lot of time running from goblins! You could actually hold down to move as well, but that feature could've been explained in game a lot better and improved upon, so I'm sorry I didn't show that a bit clearer. I'm glad you liked the feeling of exploration though, I was going for making an experience of a big sprawling dungeon so it's great to hear that you had fun exploring it. Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for playing!
>Has almost ~3000 equivalent damage
>Loses to 500 hp goblin with 3 chances
The game is very unique and very cool! The mechanics are a bit complicated, but understandable after some time. The procedural generation is also very unique. Perhaps it would be better if holding down a direction would more quickly turn into constant push mode, and the push mode be faster. The RNG involved in this also makes the game super difficult. Amazing game, great work!
Haha, that's the luck of the draw! Something similar happened to me in playtesting - I somehow rolled a 1 with about 5 dice, and died to a slime, which was a little annoying. It's not really the best mechanic, having a small chance of losing completely due to bad rng, so that could've been a bit better balanced. The push mode could've been improved a little in terms of UX as well, that's true! I'm glad you found the game fun, though, and thank you for the feedback!
My only complaint is that I wish I could just hold down WASD to move instead of tapping it constantly. Good little graphics, sound is well balanced, bonus points for options for sound, music, and camera effects. Also the little details such as sfx playing while adjusting the volume slider were really nice and shows a level of polish for this game. Really good job.
Ah, you could hold down to move fast in one direction, but I'll admit that I could've been a lot clearer on communicating that feature! Still, it's good to hear that you enjoyed the polish in the game, so thank you for appreciating that!
Great game mate! I only wish there was a minimap, as it would have been quite helpful.
A minimap would've been a brilliant addition - sometimes after playtesting the game I'd just zoom out on the unity scene viewer to see how far I'd come out. Unfortunately, time always seems to run out before I get to add all the cool things, but I certainly agree with you that it would've been helpful! And congrats on paying off the debt!
This is freaking CUTE! There's not much explanation as to what the pick ups do, but there's something really satisfying about slowly figuring something like that out in a game like this. I really like it!
Thank you! I think part of why the powerups are a bit unclear is that in development I forgot that not everyone knows as much as the person making the game, but I'm glad that you managed to figure it out in the end!
Really fun and easy to play game! The math was a bit hard to figure out at first but I always love a game with large numbers and multipliers! Well done!
Same, I love exponential-type growth in games, and the dice theme seemed like a really good way to use that. If you've ever heard of the catenative doomsday dice cascader, that's what I immediately thought of when I heard the theme (it basically rolls really big dice), and so I'm glad that feeling of big numbers came across well. And thank you for the comment!
Really neat idea, and quite addicting! Everything looked so clean and the art was super cute, great work!
Super cute and polished game. Loved the character portraits and world. Also love how fleshed out it is for a short game jam experience-- the little character motivation of paying of debt is super cute, and there were points where I would open a door and immediately run away after seeing what was inside. Little things like that really made the game extra fun to play!
That's awesome! I was really hoping for that sort of experience of immediately running away from something - I hope seeing the jump from 7hp to 500hp didn't scare you too much (it certainly did scare me, and I made it that way!) And I'm glad you appreciated the little things, for me at least they're always the most fun part of making the game. Glad you enjoyed it!
Pretty good game, I had fun playing it after learning (reading) the mechanics. Very much appreciate the team putting in a guide on the itch page! I'll probably go back and play this again later.
I'm glad to hear that the game page guide was useful! I'm always unsure if I'm explaining things well enough about my games, since I'm not sure if I'm biased by making the game, so to hear that someone else could decipher my instructions is great. Thanks for the comment!
Super idea! and the game is super, but the jolting made me quickly get tired and get out(
Sorry to hear that! Now that I think about it, a way to make the movement smoother or less jolty would've been a great setting to add, so I'll keep that in mind for future games. Sorry I didn't implement it this time!
Absolutely amazing. Loved the music and art. Gameplay is a bit on the harder side but very fun and addictive. Super high replay value
Amazing job!
Thank you! I'm glad you found the game replayable, that was one of the goals I had in mind when developing so it's good to hear it worked out!
Everything is just perfect! Only Extremely difficult haha. I wonder if someone beat it :D
Anime titties, very yes
This is phenomenal game! :D
