Got hooked, haven't managed to beat the boss though!
I didn't figure out how to dodge the low-flying blue light. If you don't jump, he will hit your head, and the jump is not high enough to jump over him.
Besides that, a good interpretation of the jam theme! Well done!
Thanks for taking time to review! I should've wrote under the game that double jumping is an option and you can dash through obstacles with W key
Nice game! Game's lacking some polish, like music and the fact that when you die the player is just hidden. Also, I can't seem to shoot?
Nice! It's hard, but in a way that made it very fun to learn/improve over multiple attempts.
Fantastic art, love the fiery glow effect around the characters that lights things up especially. The actual jumping/platforming felt good, just agree with the other comments that found it very tough.
Amazing artwork, the animations are really good but I only wish some of the attacks were given more telegraph time because its sooo difficult to know when some attacks are coming! Attacks like the purple hand and the mouth that shoots its tongue from the side have some telegraph time but the one I found the most difficulty with was the spinning yellow circle, that got me almost every time. Its pretty fun though and you did a lovely job.
Thumbs up to the retro art style! Too hard for my poor platformer skills. :D
Cool game! Great job. But it's very difficult
Nice little game with nice arts, but it is difficult.
There are some small bugs, when the character is dead, in fact the sprite is just hidden but you can still control it. Also if you fall in the pit the game is stuck.
Thanks for reviewing! Yeah turns out i have the kill floor to far back on the z axis so it doesn't hit the player, will fix in a post jam version
I really liked the art, but I think the game is a bit too hard. Maybe make the player's hitbox smaller?
Thanks for the feedback! In a post jam version I'm definitely gonna change the players hitbox to make it more forgiving during gameplay :)
Well as everyone has mentioned the art and animations are just amazing, but the gameplay is really fun as well with the movement and the boss' attacks! could maybe use a bit more range on the player's attacks to make it a bit less difficult but still, overall fantastic work! :D
Nice retro artstyle, music and sfx. I like it!
Love the artstyle! Felt the game was a little confusing to play tho😂 Cant wait to see it after further polishing!
Nice pixel art man 5/5
Thanks! It took quite a while to draw it :)
Really nice experience, I could see this being a boss fight in a commercial game with some of the kinks ironed out.
It's interesting that the number on the die not only determines the attack but also how many things you have to dodge for that attack too. The game was quite fun and I enjoyed my time playing it. I do wish there was a boss health bar or something to tell me I was making progress though.
This is a nice little boss fight! It takes a bit to memorize the attacks, and could have been a little bit more of an indication I was hitting the boss but still good overall!
The game’s pretty fun, but as far as I can tell there’s no telegraphing nor any indication that you damaged him (unless he takes damage with his shield up?). I particularly liked the graphics.
Thanks for the review, yeah i really should have invested more time into creating a health bar so you can see how much damage has been dealt
I like the idea, but I can't tell if I'm actually damaging the boss
