One of my favorite games of the jam! Really great work, I really enjoyed playing this. Could use some music/sound, backgrounds, and maybe just a little juice that like shakes the screen or dice when they get hit, but the core game is already so great. Congrats! Awesome, awesome work!

This game was so much fun. I beat everyone, including the Crazy. My go-to lineup was Explorer, Mercenary, Fire Mage, because it would pull out Inferno Shock pretty frequently. I have a lot of good things to say, but I don't think I could fit them all in one comment. Maybe I'll come back and reply under this if I can boil it down to a few points. :)

Honestly, with a bit more put into the presentation, I'd pay money for this game. Really solid game you've put together, and I had a lot of fun with it!

It’s really impressive to hear that you have beaten the crazy! I honestly thought no one could do that. Thank you so much for playing our game and having fun! <3

EDIT: I actually thought the best combination would be Physics / Wind / Water (e.g., Archer + Enchanter + Ice Mage), but I am really surprised when people talking about how powerful other combinations are (mainly Fire / Thunder) in feedbacks. Seems like I’m dumb on our game! xD

If we have more time definitely we will make it better!

The general things I found were that you needed to have some shield/heal, especially for the later enemies. Going in guns blazing would not do any good if the Crazy gets a +200 on you first turn. The physics/wind/water combo is probably second-best imo, but I usually opted for Archer/Druid/Paladin if I went that route, just so I didn't die immediately.

At least from my experience, it seemed the reason fire/thunder was so good was because it has the potential to do huge bursts of damage compared to the other combinations (although its fully possible I just never got lucky with other lineups)

Developer (1 edit)

True! As you said, I think as Fire/Thunder combo requires only 2 elements (and a higher damage compared to Water/Wind) it is easier to find some lucky bursts during a battle. Archer/Druid/Paladin sounds like a quite balanced team! Glad we decided to make some last-minute buff for healing/defense …

Those feedbacks are absolutely helpful for us to tune the game further. Much appreciated!

Good implement of the dice roll on JRPG style combat!

Feeling good to unlock new characters! It's so satisfying when combos are pulled off!

Solid game. Even without in-game instructions, it was pretty clear by context how everything worked, which is huge for pick-up-and-play. Liked the art style too.

cool game! I can see a huge map for this game.

Very cool game! I like how it's possible to learn everything just from playing and looking at the info on the screen! Tho I suffered a lot to pass the King xD Keep up the great work!

Developer(+1)

:O congratz you have defeated the King! That one was quite tough ...
Thank you for playing & comments!

It was really run to play, the game felt balanced as well, Great job!

Submitted(+2)

I felt that it's really well balanced, the fights always ends without auto win at the beginning although it's a very passive games.

Submitted(+2)

I like the concept.

The fights take a bit too long and are repetitive. But the idea is solid

Good job!

A Solid selection of combos work to make this game feel tactical, which is great, however battles feel like they take forever due to the amount of healing the enemy gets! Aside from battle length though, this is a pretty darn good game!

Cool!

I really like the idea the main things that is holding it back is the animations and dice rolling sections are to long in my opinion, and (in the small section I played) their is really no choices past rerolling which makes the game feel more like just clicking until you win or loose.

I'd really appreciate it if you could take the time to review my game

Developer

Thank you! yea the animation might be a bit long, and more interactions with dices would be appreciate.

I have rated yours! It's great >w<

Good game, it looks like there can be lot of combos!

Definitely an excellent idea using the theme. One downfall of the idea is that your chance of success in a battle is almost entirely RNG based. Perhaps some more opportunity to make non-chance decisions could help because I died twice in the second battle and was pretty unsure how to change my odds moving forward. Great work!

Developer

Yea I feel the battle is quite dominated by the RNG. Maybe giving more rerolls or "hold" a dice will do the trick? Only if we had more time to tune the game xD
Thank you for the comments!

Fun game, nice idea. The tutorial text on the submission page really helped to get what was going on.
