The art style and theme in this game is phenomenal. And the gameplay and animations feel so smooth and crisp. Amazing game! I really want to see more.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for your kind words! There is quiet the demand for a continuation of Dizard and I am currently considering it. However, it depends a bit on the continued popularity of this game. But I am glad that you enjoyed it so much!

Really cool game. I did softlock myself in the tutorial level with 5 dice multiple times. Also sometimes the dropped dice didn't transform correctly and just stayed in the thrown state.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! Sadly as a solo developer i had to crunch and cut some corners. One of these cut corners was the level design and that led to a few design flaws. But it is still possible to jump against the 5-Eyed-Dice and push them out as they are light enough. I am considering a few changes to the level design with a "Post-GameJam-Update"!

Fun and feels well polished. Interesting take on the theme. The art style is a little bit similar to my submission...

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words! I looked at your submission and have to say that yes indeed the art styles feel similar but are still quiet different! Good take on it!

Submitted(+1)

Cool visuals, I dig it. The concept is cool, but I feel like there are too many ways to softlock yourself. Maybe give the levels multiple solutions, I had so suicide a few times on the first level because I kept getting anything except a two. Apart from that, very interesting take on the theme, very well done!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! Sadly i have to agree that the level design is a bit lacking. That is a side effect of the short time period of 48 hours as well as being a solo developer crunching and cutting a few corners. But i am glad you enjoyed it still!

Submitted(+2)

Game was well polished given the development timeframe. Definitely seems like something that could be turned into a bigger game.

Developer

Thank you for your kind words! I had quiet a few requests to continue development on Dizard from my community as well as the comments on itch.io. Depending on the continued popularity i might do so.

Very cute graphics! The mechanics kind of screwed me here and there, just by blocking certain passages I was supposed to go through, but with some jiggling back and forth I was able to move past it. Very creative interpretation of the theme, nicely done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback and kind words! I certainly had to crunch and cut some corners. The design of the levels was sadly one of the corners that got cut quiet a bit. But i am glad that you enjoyed it still!

This has very minimal cute graphics, i like the bouncy dices and i enjoying playing through it during my live stream , very good entry for the game jam , congratulations on finishing it on time!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words and for playing it on your stream! I am glad you enjoyed it!

I want more of this...

Developer

Thank you! I would love to work more on this project. It's been requested a few times. I'll have to see how the popularity of this game develops during the next few days to decide the future of the game! You can help by recommending this game to others who are then able give me more feedback on it and continue to recommend it!

The game is nice, th arts is cute, I just got annoyed by that jump sound after a while tho haha. But it wasn't a real problem, still happy to threw theses dices.

Nice that you can backtrack/respawn dices (so you don't get locked, or at least, less easily).

Small tip, at the start, you forgot to put the space bar, I was wondering what was happening :D.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback and your kind words! Yes some thing were cut short (like the explanation of the controls) as a result of the limited time and the constraint of being a single developer. But i am glad that you still enjoyed it!

Really awesome little challenging plat-former. I find games in this art style just so good. Almost perfect.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words! Almost perfect is way better than i had imagined to be possible!

Submitted(+1)

love the art.
sound effects are not out of the world but they fit well.
die spawn animations are very cool.
movement feels nice.
there's sadly no restart button to take you back to the checkpoint.
some music would've been nice.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for your feedback and kind words! I had to make everything myself so i had to cut some corners where i am lacking (for example audio and especially music). It is possible to die to get reset to the last checkpoint. That will also respawn the collectible dice for your magic without removing the previous ones. If you are stoft-locked you can simply die until you run out of lives. Running out of lives will reset the current level! (I can imagine some cases in which it is not possible to die so i will consider adding the option to restart from the last checkpoint in a possible "Post-GameJam-Update").

Submitted(+1)

When you die (no pun intended), your dice are still there. So you can generate infinite dice.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! That is actually an intended feature to make it easier to use more dice (if you fail your previous roll). You can only do that as often as you have lives left (your dice heart below the collected dice in the user interface show the amount of lives you have left).

Um.

Nice game! Love the art! The movement feels just right! Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! I hope you enjoyed the little experience of playing Dizard!

Suuuper cool game, probably one of the best platformers submitted in the jam

Developer

Thank you for your kind words! I hope there will be more people to play it and feel the same way as you do!

Submitted(+1)

Really cool game! I love the art, and it was cool to see what the different dice numbers do. I also enjoyed how you integrated the tutorial with the gameplay.

I did find a bug in which you can hug a wall while spamming space and get some pretty insane height, but it was fun to use the bug anyway to speedrun the levels :P

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I am glad you liked it so far! (The infinite jumping on walls is in fact an intended feature.)

Great thing with high potential to level DLCs! ;) I like the overall concept and quiet a good result for a one-man-show in less then 50 hours!

Developer

Thank you a lot! It was fairly difficult to make all the art, programming, animation, sounds and design all by myself. Sadly it lacked a bit in the design. But i am really grateful for your positive feedback and hope you had fun!

very cool and funny game ... i hope that this will be continued and get more level !!! great work !

Developer

Thanks a lot for your kind words! I might consider improving some of the mechanics and levels depending on the result of the GMTK GameJam 2022!

The game idea, controls, sounds and animation are good. Levels are too short and too easy.  I would like more and heavier levels. Recommend it with pleasure.

8/10

Developer

Thank you for your kind words and feedback! Sadly I had not too much time left when designing the levels and have to agree with you. I am considering a "Post-GameJam-Update" for Dizard and might add a few more and improved levels!

saw the whole process on twitch, was fun and really liked the work, also really like the game, fun and has a lot of potential

Developer

It was a real challenge to make the game while streaming the entire process on Twitch. Thank you for being with us on my stream!

Love the Game! There is a lot of potention with additional levels and puzzles. The game already feels quite polished! Keep it up!

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind words! I hope you enjoyed my short but cute little game!
