Amazing game. It feels like every game jam I've done there's one puzzle game that I have a blast with, and this is one of those games. The combination of the music and sounds with the simple yet in-depth and expansive puzzle controls just make it a joy to try to solve the puzzles. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to play through all of the levels yet, but I'm sure it's more great puzzle fun.

How does your game fit the theme?
An assembler takes short, often three-letter instructions from assembly language and converts them to the binary code for the computer. The player of this game acts as the "assembler" of these instructions, with "F"s and "O" instead of 1s and 0s.

Update: Just finished the rest of the game. Those later puzzles have very clever solutions that I really enjoyed figuring out.
I just have a few final notes about the game now that I've finished:
- It would be nice to have an undo button that let me rewind a couple moves, because I often found myself doing one wrong move or two that would make me restart the whole level. It never took me too long to get back to where I was at, but it would also be nice to not have to re-setup my entire solution again.
- I still really do like the musical aspect of this when inputting the "F"s and "O"s, but sometimes hearing it in quick succession it sounded a bit harsh over and over again just because of the nature of the music and the instrument. This is a small gripe, but something I still wanted to point out.
- I ran into one small bug where I was able to walk off the playable area on one of the last levels. I didn't use this to exploit the level, but it's just something I discovered and wanted to let you know.
- For me at least, I often got my directions mixed up when turning the characters. Although the little diagram with the controls was helpful, sometimes figuring out the orientation was a bit confusing and I would end up just turning right 3 times instead of left once (and vice versa). Maybe some more detailed display for these controls could be helpful.
These items are not to detract from the product you've made, of course, but just little things I wanted to point out because I would really love for this game to be a fully released game on steam one day. I really did enjoy it, and the ending was quite nice and i could see that possibly expanding future puzzles. Again, I really loved the game, please do keep up the great work!
- An undo button would be a great QOL thing to add for a future update, great idea
- I also agree that I found the notes to sometimes sound a bit repetitive, especially when moving in the same direction multiple times in a row. With the time I had I couldn’t think of how to make this better than by adding various slightly different sounding versions of the notes which helped a bit I think but still not perfect
- For the bug, I would love to know what level and any details you can recall if you wanted to share them so I could investigate further!
- Again, you touch upon another QOL thing I noticed myself when testing, maybe an animated instruction panel or arrows to indicate the direction could be helpful.
Thanks for playing all the way through and the great feedback!
I love Kung-Foo, I just realized when you merged o and F it looks like a note. Amazing entry
awesome sound design and concept! the soundfeedback felt really satisfying. Great Entry!
WOWIE, I think I found my favorite game of the jam!!! This is such a unique and neat idea and execution, everything fits within the concept of "two", the controls, the colors, the sounds. I really like the sound design part and the variety of played notes makes it feel so organic while also being a great help to remember the different combinations.
I'm really really impressed, what a great game!!!! :oO
Played it a few times already and I am still surprised at the level of quality for a game jam. one of the few games that I've enjoyed in a while.
really liked this! great aesthetic and fun to figure out how to play
Crazy puzzle game, but I doubt you made it in a week... Couldn't even finish and think one of the last levels i've encountered is unfinishable. I already spent two hours doing that. Im very doubtful you succeed to make all the visual art which is something, the sound ok, find the idea(??!) + make all the design levels sounds crazy
I love how the music matches the buttons you press. The mechanic of only having 2 buttons to do everything is really unique.
This project is amazing! The use of the theme is probably the most unique and creative I've seen. The art style is also perfect for the game—simple, beautiful, and very polished. The mechanics of the levels are creative and challenging as well. My only feedback would be about accessing the restart and settings menu. I understand that making it accessible through typing is part of the game's mechanics, and it's really cool that you thought of this. However, it can sometimes feel inconvenient when you want a quick restart. But it's definitely an outstanding game with great potential!
Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback!! I agree that making the options menu how I did would result in some limitations, so there’s definitely some things like that I would think about tweaking in hindsight. I also wanted to avoid people resetting the level on accident so I tried to hide it in a menu, though I know it adds a layer of complexity. Thanks again!
