This game was very DIFFICULT to understand. I understood after a bit, but man was it hard. However, it was still fun. 👍
Glad you had fun despite everything!
Enjoyed the cutscenes and the moving map. I struggled with the game mechanics a bit, however. It was hard to understand the consequences of spending my mana on a given turn.
Glad there were things there that you enjoyed! One difficult part is that the terrain changes based on your mana AND your opponents... and it can be hard to see what they are doing! Such QOL things weren't fully fleshed out :|
How do you start an attack? I was clicking, double-clicking, and dragging, but nothing happened :((
I should have explained it better, but the order is: pay (click and drag mana), then the mouse changes, then click on the target. Some moves are support and have to target your team!! I didn't have time to make the icons all unique, but you can tell using the mouse-over tooltip (on the move itself)
The characters are cute, the lemons are funny, and I enjoy this style of game!
I ended up having trouble getting the game running smoothly (probably an issue on my end) but my click and drag inputs were not working as expected.
Regardless, great work!
Sorry it fully work out, but thanks for playing!
All the characters are cute! The music is also very good. fun game!
Thanks so much!
Simple and elegant game! 😃
I liked the sounds the lemons make, and the balancing mechanic was an interesting twist on the regular turn-based RPG formula.
By the way, the game works for me on Firefox.
Maybe the UI could have been improved a little to show the tooltips quicker, because now they are easy to miss.
Overall, a very cute game! Good job! 😄
Thanks a bunch! I used to really like turn-based RPGs but just can't play them any more... so I'm trying to make (prototype) things that I want to see!
Interesting point about Firefox, thanks for the info... I don't fully understand the compatibility issues with Godot 4.
Thanks for playing!
I had to check the comment to understand that hovering skill contains precious infos ! The balancing environement is a bit complicated to handle but has potential. I really like the weird lemons !
Yeah I'm hearing that a lot of people had the same tooltip problem, glad you figured it out! I'm also glad you liked the lemons :)
Really fun, it took me awhile to understand how to attack, but once i got it I was all in, good job!
Yeah several people have said the mouse-over and general flow should be better explained... but I was also trying to learn more about drag and drop and maybe did it unnecessarily :)
Thanks for playing!
It was strange... Really strange but when I read the comments (especially about hovering skills) everything became much clearer so I could taste this game. It is tasty!
Yeah I should have explained the hovering more. Glad you eventually got the taste!
Very nice way of interpreting the theme! Very well thought out and fun. Nice job :)
Thanks for playing, glad you liked the theme tie-in!
The lemons make a compelling argument.
I'm afraid I did not understand the balance mechanic...
Sorry it was hard to understand! The mana you and your opponents spend pushes you in that direction (2 mana/level). This is something I wanted to work on explaining in an interesting way but didn't have time!
Fun. Love the balance mechanic and the voice of the lemons is to die for! :)
So glad you liked it! I've found a lot of people who liked the voice but it's also a bit controversial :)
Very cute! I loved all the characters!!
Thanks for playing!
Really made me think of pokemon, really simple turn by turn game that works well. As the others said I really liked the background changes too, it's a detail but that had a huge importance for me to really feel what I was doing was really changing the environement and I had to be careful. The artwork was a bit rough around the edges but still good enough for me to understand everything. Adding sound effects would have been so great too but I guess in a jam no time to everything right? ahah Great job dude
I'm really glad the background worked out for you, it took longer than I expected to get it working! Indeed quite rough art and sound (that's for sure not my strength!) but indeed that's the jam life. Thanks for playing!
Took me a hot minute to realize that you can see what the moves do when you hover over them. After that the game was way more clear, though still pretty darn difficult. :D
Also, I really like that imbalance causes the background to change, really nice touch!
Yeah I figured I could maek that more clear but I'm glad you got it!
I wanted to do a lot more with the background... but it's always like that!
Good idea!
Thanks!
I like how the background changes with the balance
Thanks! I wanted to have more characters in the background but didn't have time
