This was very fun to play. The controls, the menu, tracks, and sound felt polished.
The AI was decent, especially for all that was done.

That's a pretty cool game. It was fun to play, and felt polished. Graphics and sound are both great.
Wow! This game is SUPER polished! This is dumb thing to focus on, but I think this is the most extensive settings screen I've ever seen in a jam game. :-) Great art, great feel, the music fits perfectly. The pile up of the AI cars at the end of each race is hilarious. I have literally nothing to complain about. :-)
This is a really well polished game, I really like the art and in general the overall techincal side. I also had an idea for procedurally generated race tracks, but the only thing that I didn't like in this case was that some tracks were really short, in comparison to others. Great job!
Thanks, I'm glad you like it.
For the generation of the tracks I used a very simple algorithm and from time to time the last segment runs out of room to continue growing and therefore the tracks vary in size.
As it is a jam I made the base of the game and then I keep improving it little by little. In the list of tasks to do I still have: make the tracks circular, improve the AI and make it multi-player. But time runs out fast in a jam :(
This was amazingly well done, I also took a "revolutions per minute" interpretation of the theme. The tracks were very pleasant to look at and I'm assuming they were procedural? The driving itself was a good mix of chaotic, but still very tight, and the AI worked shockingly well for a jam game. The polish and quality is really impressive.
Holy cow, this is a really well done game!
The controls feel good, I like the arcade-y feel of the turns and the handbrake is a nice little addition for tight corners. The graphics look great with lots of bright colors and pixel goodness. The audio is well done, although I would say the default sound levels are a touch high.
My only real complaint is that the AI is not very good, so the game is really easy.
Overall very nice job!
The word play immediately caught my eye on the submissions page :D
I'm amazed by how polished and complete this game feels, truly a joy to play. Awesome!
Did you do all these tracks ? That's a lot of em ! Good job, I like the atsmophere the graphics give the game.
Tracks are procedurally created (in theory there can be infinite tracks). They are made of pieces (40 different ones) that are joined at random before starting the race.
This website explains the basic theory http://kidscancode.org/blog/2018/09/godot3_procgen3/ ( I did something similar )
