Cool idea! Seemed a bit buggy so I didn't get to play much, but I definitely like the concept.

Very cool idea for a game! The graphics are fun while simple. For as little as I got to try it, I did really enjoy the plate balancing mechanics. There were, however, a number of things that got in the way of me fully enjoying this little game.

  1. For the life of me, I could not understand the leveling mechanics, even once I figured out how to level them. None of it seemed to help in the game itself. It’s very possible they DID effect the actual game, but with such a small window where I was actively balancing the plate, I couldn’t see the skills having any form of effect.

  2. there seemed to be a bug where, if I ran too far off screen I wasn’t able to return to the screen to “escape”. This is true for both the main game, and the training room. When this happened, I had to reload the game.

  3. When actually balancing the plats, I think there’s too much going on at once. Not only is there the falling sandbags, but also the tomatoes. If any one of those hit me or the plate, it’s instant fail. This is especially frustrating with the tomatoes as they’re flying in almost horizontally, so, even if I did move, there’s virtually no way to avoid them! I think there should be a very reduced number of hazards to have to worry about in the game. To have to manage all of them AND the plat right from the get-go is too much, in my humble opinion.

Like I said, I very much like the idea of this game, and, the few moments I DID get to balance the plate was fun, but I think there are a number of technical and design issues that just get in the way as it stands.

Thanks! Those are all good points, I appreciate them. I’ll use those in the future to make better stuff, this helps.

Nice idea! I found it very hard to control the duck! Tiny steps were often not enough to dodge the onionsandbags!

Developer

Thanks! The sandbags do look like onions, haha.

Cute duck !

I fell off stages, then I retried and managed to up my treadmill skill to 50+ by mashing keys :P Could not find the rope though. I am admittedly really bad at this game.

Developer

Thanks for trying it out! I shoulda made the rope more obvious. It blends into the wall pretty well.

At first I was like "what the heck is that?" but then I couldn't stop trying :D
I would love to hear some quacks when it gets hit :) Maybe make it into a mobile game?

Developer

Those are great ideas!

The idea is super cool and the duck is adorable. The Hitbox sometimes seen to be not so fair, but in general, it's a great great game, congrats!!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I managed to win after leveling up to 20! :)

I had to restart the game a few times as when I went off screen I could not go back (I think I might have fallen? )

Developer(+1)

Yay! Good stuff.

Yeah the duck fell off. The stage would definitely not qualify for a safety permit...

I don't understand how to move without instantly breaking the plate?

Developer

Duckling steps. Admittedly, it is quite tricky.

Cute theme and art! Is there a way to try again after running to the training room, or do you just have to start the game over?

Developer

Thanks! What is supposed to happen is the duck interacts with SPACE to open the door between the training room and stage. But I am quickly realizing a critical oversight was not including horizontal boundaries to either room, allowing the duck to fall off the edges, haha.

This was adorable.  I loved training my duck.

I love the theme, and the game is super cute, but I really was struggling to actually keep the plate going, it felt like the tomatoes were unavoidable - at least I wasn't smart enough to figure it out, haha!

It's fun but i walked off the stage and got stuck on the edge of the treadmill

Developer

Thanks for letting me know about the treadmill. I’ll find a way to avoid this next time.

I love it! so cute duck

Great idea! I fell off the stage a few times and had to reset, there could be some blocking, but overall great idea, love the theme hehe

Developer

Thanks! Ya I didn’t even think to make a horizontal boundary to the stage or workout room, haha oops.

A blocking mechanic would be good, aye. That bombardment is brutal.

Submitted

Quite difficult, but funny idea :)

Good job.

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted

Oh my goodness!  Absolutely Brilliant!  Love the Wildcard mechanics!

The plate balancing seems quite challenging, and I fell out of the rooms a couple of times...

Silly me!  Thanks for your hard work...is the code around?

Developer (1 edit)

haha, I totally forgot to make the stage fall-proof. I can upload the code later on the itch.io page for sure.

EDIT: I have the whole project zip on the itch.io page now for your download.
